Leicester City must already be sick of the sight of Arsenal football club after the whole Jamie Vardy saga. Shortly after the Vardy to Arsenal stories we read that we had interest in LCFC creative wide man Riyad Mahrez. Well the hat-trick has been completed after Arsène Wenger spoke of his admiration for the Foxes box to box midfielder N'Golo Kante.

Speaking to TV station BeIN Sports’ Euro Show, Arsène Wenger gushed about the former Caen midfielder.

Wenger said: "I admire and like N'Golo Kanté a lot. It gives you ideas,"

"He gives you the feeling that the higher the level he plays at, the more at ease he is. We are talking about numbers. He has the most interceptions in Europe and by far. He has incredible quality. He feels the game, only very few people can do that. He's always where he needs to be. It is very rare to have that in the central midfielder. Not always orthodox, but always in the right place."

He gives you ideas eh? I'd be interested to know what kind of ideas those are. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Arsenal work on their transitional game for next season. I remember Arsène speaking at the end of the season about how good Leicester City were without needing the ball, and how much of a lesson that was to everyone. A player like Kante is vital to that approach. I didn't know he had such an impressive number of interceptions but you can see just how dominant he is on the pitch.

A quick glance at Online Soccer Betting sites will show that many teams are interested in his services. Chelsea are one of those who are supposedly interested in the player and as much as Arsène may like him, I just don't see us adding that sort of player after adding Elneny and Xhaka in the last few months. As much as I would dislike it, I can imagine him swapping the blue of Leicester City for the blue of Chelsea this summer.

In midfield we have Xhaka, Coquelin, Ramsey, Cazorla, Wilshere and Elneny for two positions. So unless we have a big departure from our midfield this summer, I don't see Kante ending up at THOF.

I set up a poll on Twitter the other day asking Gooners who they would choose to partner Xhaka at the base of the midfield more often than not and here were the results.

I forgot about poor Elneny. Sorry old chap!

*Oh and It's 4-2-3-1. I had a bad day.

So let me stop reminiscing of days gone by and let me focus on our Welsh wonder. Let me start off by saying that I think it is quite obvious that Aaron Ramsey is better in central midfield. His partnership with Mesut Özil, his running from deep and his underrated ball winning ability makes him a ...Read more
