The Highbury Library animted promo v5 350x350

Lovely the look of this team to be fair. I was pretty close in my preview only Maitland-Niles will be filling in at right back instead of Gabriel. Bit harsh on Rob Holding though as he might have expected a game in this competition.

Going back to Maitland-Niles, he played right back against Notingham Forest earlier in the season and did a very good impression of Hector Bellerin in the way he played. He is quick and technically good but obviously you have to take into consideration the opposition but I am happy to see him given another go in that role. What that quite says about Carl Jenkinson I don't know. Maybe he is close to a loan move away somewhere so he has been held back or maybe the manager has lost faith in him which would be pretty sad.

Lucas Perez starts on the left and I really hope he can make a big impact, this is his chance to push his way into the starting 11 on a more regular basis. He had a very good impact off the bench at Bouremouth and a similar display over the 90 minutes would push himself into the managers thoughts for our next game.

We also get to sample the delights (hopefully) of the Xhaka and Ramsey combination. It is a partnership that a lot of Gooners have been waiting to see so I am interested to see how they do together.

Confirmed Line Up:

Subs: Martinez, Jenkinson, Holding, The Jeff, DaSiva, Willock, Welbeck

His partnership with Mesut Özil, his running from deep and his underrated ball winning ability makes him a ...Read more
