The Highbury Library animted promo v5 350x350

Attentions quickly turn to the FA cup this afternoon, maybe a breather from the Premier League might be a good idea after that quite frankly crazy game at Bournemouth a few days ago. Like most new years resolutions, it did’t take me long to break mine did it? I wanted to express my thoughts on that game but couldn’t find the needed time to do so. It’s probably for the best though as I am not quite sure how my jumbled up brain would have translated that into words.

Preston are currently sat in 11th place in the Championship and they’ve only one once at home since a 3-1 win over Hudderfield Town back on October 19th. Leeds United gave them a 4-1 spanking at Deepdale on Boxing day too. So really and truly we should be winning this game as long as we don’t go into the game expecting to win without effort.

Speaking of Leeds, I had a look at their squad to see if I knew any of their players. Former Leeds United striker Jermaine Beckford, Anders (how dare he?) Lindegaard and Aiden McGeady were the ones I recognised.

Then I came across this fella who goes by the name of Liam Grimshaw (not sure why I said it like that)

I was convinced it was a FIFA 17 image and not a real photo.

Anyway there will be a few changes to the team but most will remain according to Arsene pre match.

Lucas Perez needed to be assessed due to an ankle knock which would be a massive shame given his impact on the south coast in our last game. You would like to think this is his chance to finally stake his claim in this team. What a goal by the way? I’ve watched it about 25 times and the control on the finish was exceptional.

WELBECK IS BACK!

He will be on the bench but it will be a sight to behold when he waits on the sidelines, hopefully with a comfortable lead in hand, smiles on his face as he high fives the player he replaces (I’m going with Oliver Giroud on 78 minutes) and then jogs onto the pitch.

Ahh yes we will probably see the Xhaka and Ramsey combination, although I wouldn’t be surprised to see Xhaka rested for this game as he has played a lot in recent weeks.

Mean Lean's Predicted Line Up:

I am going to the in-laws who thought it be a good idea to make dinner for 5.30pm so I may have to cheekily watch it from my phone until everyone finishes their roast.

Hope you have a more successful viewing than I do and enjoy the game.

So let me stop reminiscing of days gone by and let me focus on our Welsh wonder. Let me start off by saying that I think it is quite obvious that Aaron Ramsey is better in central midfield. His partnership with Mesut Özil, his running from deep and his underrated ball winning ability makes him a ...Read more
