100% start, so why are some disgruntled? & Four into Three doesn’t go

Oh I forgot, our strikers will never score a goal again because they have only managed to set up goals so far in three games. We should sell Van Persie, Bendtner and Arshavin (which slightly confuses them)

Three matches, three victories, twelve goals, two conceded and yes there are many still complaining. Why would you still be complaining? I just do not understand.

I was reading some post match comments on various blogs, one in particular which is known as being the most negative were complaining about pretty much everything about a game where we won 4-1. If we score 4, we should score 8, if we win convincingly then the opposition were rubbish or we could have done even better had Wenger played different players.

Oh I forgot, our strikers will never score a goal again because they have only managed to set up goals so far in three games. We should sell Van Persie, Bendtner and Arshavin (which slightly confuses them) and buy new strikers for loadsa loadsa dosh to make everyone feel much better.

Can someone please explain to me where people like that get enjoyment from supporting your club?

Anyway, just wanted to get that off my chest.

Cesc Fabregas is apparently supposed to be missing the match against Manchester United. Arsene Wenger’s plot is going according to plan. I wouldn’t be surprised if he planted that as he knew the media would latch onto his words, only for Cesc to be declared fit before the game to give them a psychological disadvantage.

I think Cesc will be rested for the Celtic game as we do not have to chase the game and then he will return for the two big games in Manchester. Cesc looked fine when he came off at half time against Portsmouth, but he needed resting as did Clichy, Song, Bendtner and Sagna.

I am still feeling excited about Abou Diaby showing his true worth in a formation that gets the best out of him. I cannot think of a player that could benefit from this system more than Abou. I am wondering what Arsene will do at Old Trafford. He will want Denilson and Song as protection and obviously Cesc pulling the strings but Diaby’s box to box strength is a must so Arsene has some decisions to make if we do not have anymore injuries.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see one of our offensive players drop out (probably Bendtner if any) and Diaby being pushed to a left attacking role with Arshavin switched to the right. This is something I would not necessarily want but I wouldn’t be surprised to see that happen if Diaby’s form continues.

Wenger likes to play his strongest players even if they are not always best suited in certain positions. I am sure he said something along the lines of he always wants his best players on the pitch but I would also argue that his best players would not always be his best players if playing in a position that doesn’t really suit them but anyway.

It seems like all the players are enjoying the new formation, it appears to be the talk of the town. Alex Song was talking about his role in the heart of the midfield.

“I am the first defender in the midfield, if you like,” he said. “That means Cesc and Denilson can push forward a little more. I’ll stay in the middle so that I can stop counter-attacks and close passes down.

“But we see also that when the other guys lose the ball they come back immediately to help out too. I like playing in this position and just want to keep trying to do my best all the time, helping the team to move upwards.”

Last season when Song and Denilson played together it was quite often Denilson who was sitting further with Song pressing the ball further up the pitch. Denilson played more than anyone else last season so I am intrigued to know what our midfield will look like in the very big games when everyone is fit. I know I have said something like this already in this article today but I guess that little brain ticking over.

Diaby was talking about winning the champions league this season, apparently the squad have been talking about it which you would guess happens in many of the big club dressing rooms around the Europe.

We certainly have the ability to do it, it is just a matter of playing well, having good luck and doing the business on the day. I still feel that the Arsenal Barca final in 2005 wasn’t played how it should have, not only that we didn’t win on the day but the sending off made for a different game. I remember the game before the sending off and it was fantastic. We flew out of the blocks and passed them off the pitch. They couldn’t deal with our speed and hunger. *sigh* It could have been so different but I shall refrain from talking about the past because we have a lovely looking future to look forward to, I just hope the dreams of the squad can turn into reality and there is no reason why it cannot.

A big week coming up, I feel rather positive about it also I might add. A comfortable, disciplined victory against Celtic and then a fighting classy showing at Old Trafford is what I fancy.

A bit of late showing from myself today, I usually have one gap in the day to write something and when that is taken up by something else then the rest of the day runs away from me, hopefully back on track tomorrow.

Back tomorra.
