Hello Goons out there,
Nice weekend? I ended up having no sleep and breaking my in laws PC instead of fixing it so, mine was not great to say the least.
At least it is bank holiday Monday. Time for fun fairs, picnics, swimming outdoors etc etc oh no I forgot that the weather has some sort of virus that hasn’t been killed. It is called the ‘If it is bank holiday Monday then rain heavily’ virus.
So Wenger has confirmed that we are very close to having Nasri signed sealed and delivered. What has happened to the sneaky Arsenal transfer that happens out of the blue? Every cat and dog knew about this for the last few weeks now.
So 2 in and probably 2 out so far. Even Stevens, although not in matching positions but in numbers at least. The next question I find myself asking, is..
Is Sami Nasri, Alex Hleb’s replacement? If not then who is? and where exactly does that leave Nasri? There has been alot of hype about Ben Arfa who I still think will find his way to Marseille instead, but lets say for arguments sake he finds himself standing alongside Wenger and maybe even Nasri on the pitch holding up their new shiny red Arsenal shirts.
It would be fair to assume that a midfield of
Will start the season but after the ‘two’ players settle in and are pushing for a starting position then what happens to the others? Alot of people will instantly say that we need competition in all positions and in a way I agree with you but Ronaldo does not have competition, Rooney does not have someone to rotate with. Frank Lampard will always start because he is one of the first 11. Only really Liverpool could afford to have 5 wingers who will have their games split between them and we all know that, that is a really stupid policy. Especially for the Premier League.
This is not even taking into account Eboue who Wenger likes to play on the right to add balance to a small and attacking midfield.
So I personally think that Wenger will not go and buying another wide player. Theo Walcott is the player who can add goals and end product from that side. Nasri, Rosicky and Fabregas are all creators they are the string pullers for Walcott, Van Persie, Vela and of course Adebayor.
Will we have another season of the midfield lacking goals? I don’t think so. I pray and hope that Tomas Rosicky can stay injury free (to be honest I do the same about winning the lottery, which hasn’t happened yet) because given a season, sod it, half a season straight without picking up an injury, he will be a special player. We have never seen the best of him because he keeps breaking down. I still think he can do whatever Cesc can do and will hopefully prove it next year.. please!!
I was thinking about the wee lad Wilshere . At 16 years old he looks some player. I remember watching Cesc Fabregas at that age and technically I think Wilshere is ahead (at that age) Cesc had and still has special vision and overall football understanding. It is hard to know where Wilshere without watching him in training or watching him every week.
I look forward to our Carling cup team almost as much as our first team.
Right enjoy the rain. Leave your view in the comments.
Until tomorrow.
