I am all for constructive criticism for our players. After all we are supporters of Arsenal so we need things to talk about down the pub, before or after the game
A very good afternoon to you,
I am still feeling pretty good about the Roma performance. Well not the performance by Roma but the Arsenal perfor…. well you know what I am trying to say.
You know what has been getting my goat of late? I have read many Gooners views of the game and I have heard that the only reason that Arsenal won was because Roma played so badly. Why is that?
I tell you know, if Manchester United had beaten Roma 1-0 in the exact same way I would read from the same people that Manchester United made Roma look poor because of their superiority.
Why do some Arsenal supporters enjoy putting a downer on everything? I honestly do not understand it. I know many doom and gloomers will read this also so please help me understand. I actually think it is now fashionable to speak negatively of your own team. It is sad but I seems true to me.
When you play such a good game against a Champions League team who have been doing well lately and all you hear is moaning about the performance of Song from the bench the booking of Toure then it makes you wonder, what is the point of supporting a football club.
Don’t get me wrong, I am all for constructive criticism for our players. After all we are supporters of Arsenal so we need things to talk about down the pub, before or after the game etc but I hate when ‘supporters’ refuse to say anything positive about a player that he or she has decided that they do not like.
Against Sunderland at home I was watching Denilson and thinking to myself. ‘wow, yet another interception’ or ‘great last ditch tackle Denilson’
Then I get back from the game and read about how shit Denilson is and how he should be shot etc etc WTF???
I am all for each to having their own opinion and if said constructively then I will listen and respect your view as I did with a poster talking about Diaby last night.
I feel that some people have a negative template that they copy and paste after every game.
Denilson is shit and only passes sideways, we need a beast of a DM
Song is shit, he is lazy and is not good enough for Arsenal
Bendtner is a waste of space, how can he say that he is better than all the other forwards
Eboue is a shit footballer with no ability
So instead of watching an individual performance they have already copied this text and will paste regardless of how the player performs.
Please pay attention to what they do during the game without having your pre judgement plastered all over your forehead.
*deep breath*
Well I think that is enough of that for now, I did not intend for that to all come out but hey, its from the heart and all that.
Some interesting comments from Chelsea’s Salomon Kalou today.
Kalou said:
“I have a lot of respect for him, he is one of the best coaches in the world so why not?” he said with a massive smile on his face.
“I am still under contract with Chelsea, but of course I have plenty of friends who play for Arsenal: Kolo Toure, Emmanuel Eboue and Emmanuel Adebayor.
“They are achieving huge things at Arsenal and watching them play is just beautiful.”
Chelsea did come out and say that Arsene had approached them about bringing the player to the club and I don’t know why that came up in conversation, as he was asked this after the Champions League victory against Juventus.
I personally do not see why we would be interested in that type of player when we have so many who can play out wide and in a forward position. Perhaps Wenger sees something special in Kalou that others do not, who knows.
I would be very surprised if we did make an enquiry in the summer for his services.
It appears that all is well with Kolo Toure. He has been speaking about his relationship with partner in crime William G and his future.
Toure said:
“Everything is at the end now, It is finished and in the past. I am delighted to be at the club, playing every week and helping the team to win games. I love Arsenal. I have been here for seven years, it is the club of my heart. William and I are used to playing together and last season we lost very few games when we were both in the team.
“We know each other really well and we are happy to play together. The season is still long and we are out for all the trophies. Every game is really important, we will take it game by game and try 100 percent and see at the end of the season where we are.”
Is it coincidence that we are playing very well defensively now that this issue between the two of them no longer exists? Who knows but what is good is that we are now slowing witnessing the Kolo Toure of old. He is making less mistakes and looks fitter than earlier in the season.
I still have a tear in my eye for Johan Djourou, who has hardly put a foot wrong and is still the best in the air out of the three, but we cannot break what does not currently need fixing I guess.
Even during this difficult financial time, Arsenal are showing impressive figures in their half yearly pre tax profit reports.

The Highbury Square development has been an obvious concern but Peter Hill-Wood has confirmed that it will have little effect on Arsene Wenger’s transfer funds.
Hill Woody-Woody said:
“The UK property market has been particularly affected by the economic downturn and, inevitably, this has had an impact on the group’s own property development activities in the period.
“The financial arrangements for the group’s property activities are separate and largely operate independently from the financing of the football business.
“This has always been a key aspect of our financial structure for the group and is intended to provide us with the ability to develop the football team as with, for example, the signing of Andrei Arshavin, irrespective of the difficult conditions in which our property business is having to operate.
We put most football clubs to shame by the way we run our football club. We should be the grade A student that the rest of the Chairmen point to when talking about an example of a well run club.
It is time for lunch, so I bid you goodbye for now.
Same again tomorrow.
