RVP, Vela, Arshavin etc? Don’t worry goals are on the way

Robin Van Persie has missed many chances in the last 3 games or so and we know he should have done better but we have to remember that he is playing as the number 9 at the moment

ok, ok, I know my Fulham prediction went a little pear shaped but please do not blame me for that one. It felt so right and I was amazed when it didn’t happen. When I saw the line up before the game I felt a massive buzz of excitement, Arsene has really gone for this I thought to myself, he wants to break this hoodoo in a big way and Fulham will be in big trouble.

We all know how it turned out, it feels like I am watching an Arsenal groundhog day. Dominate the game, create clear cut chances and ….miss them! Why are we missing all these chances? Surely I would have more chance of winning the lottery with one ticket than Arsenal not being able to score in the last 4 games, not only the last 4 games but against that quality of opposition.

Fancy hearing a positive? Well say it quietly but we have gained a point on Villa in the last two matches. We have drawn 0-0 twice, Villa were playing against Stoke City yesterday and were 2-0 up, yet we have gained a point on Villa.

Wanna hear something else? We are not playing badly, and we are creating goal scoring opportunities. When you have a team with Arshavin, Van Persie, Vela, Nasri and Diaby in it then it is only a matter of time before you start scoring again.

Aston Villa are wobbling right now, at last Lady luck has stuck two fingers up at them and seeked pastures new, I mean come on. It was about time. I cannot believe they threw the UEFA cup away to give two late goals away. Just as I cannot believe that Tottenham dumped Europe to lose the Carling Cup final.

Is it me or was Jamie O’Hara crying? What was he crying for? You mean to tell me he was in tears over the Carling Cup??? hahahaha! I know it is childish so I shouldn’t but.. hahahahaa! Someone should write a note to the money men at Spurs with a detailed report of the money spent along with a photograph of O’Hara crying, then see if it hits home.

Sorry, I am bigger than this *ahem* back to what matters, The Arsenal.

Robin Van Persie has missed many chances in the last 3 games or so and we know he should have done better but we have to remember that he is playing as the number 9 at the moment, he is a deeper creative player and could played in that system a little deeper with someone like Eduardo (even half fit) and that would have given us better results. Eduardo would have eaten up at least half of those chances for breakfast. It is such a shame that he was injured a few minutes before coming off against Cardiff, we could well be in a much better position right now. But hey, we are not. We cannot talk of if’s, I am more guilty than most for that, but I do really want to see his movement back in an Arsenal shirt. I touched on it in my Fulham Match Report we are currently quite static and I believe it is the reason for us not having many one on ones, I mean the ones where the player is slipped through and running towards the keeper, as Henry did many times, and Wrighty before him. I may have to take off the y in Wrighty, not sure if he deserves that nickname from me anymore. His slagging off has been quite annoying lately, hate to see that in former players.

Back on the movement subject, it will be nice to have Walcott back in the first team squad, although I do not believe he will make a massive difference from the start, I think his impact from the bench will be important until he regains his sharpness. We did not really witness a consistent Theo when he was fit so after a long time out I expect there to be more progression from him. West Brom tomorrow, and that is good (I hope) and playing away from home might be a welcomed change for the players, our fans haven’t been the most supportive of bunches in recent weeks and that is quite worrying. Playing at home used to be an advantage to Arsenal but I am not sure if that is the case ar the moment, We need to get our atmosphere back but I guess we need to see the Arsenal firing before the crowd wake up, its the old catch 22 again. It should really be the other way round but its not the way right now.

We should expect a good game of football, West Brom have been an attractive team this season, playing the right way and that is all credit to him. Fulham gave us a good go also, which was very nice to see. So *clap clap clap clap* to them.

The big Willy G is out with a lingering ankle problem so Djourou should get a chance back in the side. I must say well done to Gallas who has been immense for us in the last few months, truly fantastic. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but perhaps things might have been different had he not been given the captaincy. He has done what all good pro’s should do when the going gets tough. Put your head down and work as hard as you can and you will be rewarded, well at least in performances.

Right, thank you for your time, I shall be off. Keep the faith, the goals will come don’t worry about that. Lets pray to Dennis that it comes tomorrow.
