Oxlade-Chamberlain looked very bright when he came on I thought. It looks like the rest has done him some good as he looked sharp and very dangerous out wide. I must say I still don’t see him as a central midfielder right now, he looked best when he doesn’t have the responsibly of the heart of

It is not always easy to seenwhat you are missing when you don’t have it, you become accustomed to what you have currently and perhaps your vision of what is missing isn’t always reality.
With Özil and Ramsey starting the game I had hopes of us dominating the game from the first whistle but like I said above, that wasn’t to be reality. In fact Arsenal started the game much as we have done in recent weeks, as we were a little tentative in our play mainly due to the home sides hard work off the ball.
But Hull City were not able to capitalise on the chances they created and the moments in our half of the pitch. That is down to quality or lack thereof.
The difference between playing away at Stoke earlier this season for example and the game at Hull was once again quality. You can break football down to 90 minutes worth of percentages. Win your percentages at the right time and you can win games.
Aaron Ramsey skipped past his man and found Mesut who is lacking some sharpness. Özil fed a lovely pass into Cazorla who played in Ramsey bursting into the box and just as in the early part of the season the Welsh maestro finished like a seasoned striker. The Ramsey of the van Persie Arsenal team may have lashed it wide but the 2014 model is a different animal and drove it into the corner to put us a goal up.
When it came down to the percentages both Özil and Ramsey came up with the required quality and the all important first goal was found.
Lukas Podolski has a wonderful habit of running onto dropped balls at the right time. You rarely see him make runs to force his players to pass it to him unlike Theo who does make those runs but he will appear in the right areas when the ball arrives. Giroud had lofted a pass to Ramsey in the box, the Welshman took it on his chest and a split second later Podolski was on hand to take over the situation and fire in our second.
Podolski’s goal scoring record this season has been phenomenal. I’d be pretty happy if he does nothing else this season but continuously get into goal scoring positions and takes them the way he has been in the last few games.
He was there again early in the second half to latch onto Ramsey’s saved side footed shot. The blend of Özil and Cazorla’s creativity, Podolski’s finishing and Ramsey’s all round game looks very good at the moment. The best blend that we’ve had for many months now.
The referee had turned down two pretty clear penalties for Arsenal, one on Özil and the other on late substitute Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain after both players had checked back inside against the defender.
Oxlade-Chamberlain looked very bright when he came on I thought. It looks like the rest has done him some good as he looked sharp and very dangerous out wide. I must say I still don’t see him as a central midfielder right now, he looks at his best when he doesn’t have the responsibly of centre midfield. I like when he has the freedom to run at the opposition and make things happen.
It was a very convincing victory in the end, our decisive moments early in the game helped us control the game but it will be a very different game at Wembley that is for sure. We will more than likely see a far more defensive Hull City with the intension of frustrating us rather than pressing us high up.
But that is for the end of the season, for now we need to continue to win our league fixtures. With Everton beating Manchester United convincingly, a Champions League spot could go right to the wire.
