Poor Stevie G or ‘Captain Marvel’ as the press optimistically named England Captain Steven Gerrard before our failed World Cup attempt, and it wasn’t just a fail, it was abominable. Our worst World Cup campaign in over 50 years. Not good.
Although Liverpool had a good year this year they were still left disappointed as they didn’t quite manage to clinch the top spot and so ‘Captain Marvel’ was hoping to get some well-deserved positivity out of this year’s summer cup – however unfortunately the stars didn’t align for this tired old Liverpudlian.
