…well you know what I say?

F*CK YOU!

Whether or not Arsene’s transfer dealings and player selections are the root of our troubles this season, that is well out of order. People like you are obviously short-termists. You are blinded to two things: the past and the future.

The past: when Wenger took charge, we were barely scraping into the UEFA Cup and were no more than knockout specialists. Since then: four FA Cups, two European finals, two Doubles, and one glorious Invincible season. But his biggest legacy on the field is not silverware. Indeed, it is the intangible factor: he has transformed Arsenal from a “boring”, uninspiring unit to one of the most exciting teams in the world (regardless of the four recent nil-nil draws). From being a club where top talent worldwide would barely sniff at, we are now one of the most attractive prospects around. Why else would Andrey Arshavin – the sixth best played in the world – want to join us?

The future: we have one of the youngest, most talented squads in world football, plying their trade at the most stunning of stadia. A few tweaks to personnel and a bit more natural experience will see us be there or thereabouts for the next decade (at the very least). The revolution has also ensured that we play “good” football from the first-team all the way down to youth level. Don’t believe me? Have a look at how we pissed on Spurs in the youth cup. It is no coincidence, I tell thee.

It is all well and good to question Le Boss’ decisions – I myself have done so – but to be downright abusive smacks of the Johnny-come-lately attitude that is engulfing the Emirates. It’s quite poignant that when questioned about the travelling faithful at West Brom, Arsene replied by saying that the away support had always been good to him. If you compare and contrast the unstinting, unyielding passion shown at the Hawthorns with the know-it-all smartarse remarks and boos at the Emirates, you begin to wonder how two such polar opposite sets of fans can follow the same club.

So to end this brief rant, I have a point for you Mr. Twat: the only reason you’re sampling the delights of Club Level is due to the same man you spout your vitriol at. Because the only reason we now have a 60,000 super stadium is due to the vision and prudence of one man. How many other managers would back their board and agree to five years of thriftiness in the transfer market so that the entire Gooner Nation could benefit for centuries to come. Mourinho? Don’t make me laugh.

Herbert Chapman had a bust in the Marble Halls of Highbury, and now Wenger has one too. Truth be told, he didn’t need one. Why? Because he already has a massive monument called the Emirates Stadium as his legacy.

And all this achieved without the need for a sugar daddy to bankroll us. On most days it’s good to be a Gooner. Soon, everyday it’ll be great to be a Gooner.
