Perhaps he has sat down with Wenger and asked how many games he would get in the first team and Wenger told him it would be minimal because he has many ahead of him or maybe he doesn’t like life in England
Afternoon to you all,
Not feeling full of the old beans today, I am being squashed by the pressure of tiredness at the time I write this. I am suffering from late night syndrome (nothing to do with Cheryl Cole either)
I want to try and steer clear of the Hull City aftermath as quite frankly it is boring me to tears already *as I write this a tear trickles down my cheek* Instead I want to turn my attentions to reported comments from Amuary Bischoff. Apparently he declined the opportunity to be a part of the Hull City clash instead choosing to train with the Portugal national team
Bischoff said:
“Arsene Wenger wanted to play me on Tuesday night against Hull City. But I absolutely wanted to train with the national team. It is important to me.
“The training period went very smoothly and (head coach) Carlos Queiroz is very nice. He suggested I will play with the B national team on 1st April against Romania, or may be with the first team.”
He then had a say on his Arsenal future or apparent lack of.
“I will reach the end of my contract with Arsenal, which remains my priority. However, I am free to do what I want.
“I know FC Porto and Sporting are following me. I have a preference for Sporting. It is a very prestigious club that plays a beautiful Football.”
I don’t know what has or is happening behind the scenes but it strikes me as a little bit early for Bischoff an injured reserve player to be seeking pastures new already. Perhaps he has sat down with Wenger and asked how many games he would get in the first team and Wenger told him it would be minimal because he has many ahead of him or maybe he doesn’t like life in England. We do not know so I suppose it is difficult to speculate about this.
I read a title on newsnow that made me chuckle no end. Bischoff holds key to Gunners Veloso deal haha, they are good aren’t they? They managed to find out that he may go back to Portugal, ooh look, the media have repeatedly linked Veloso to Arsenal. Ah ha! We have a story, yes we have!
Needless to say, I didn’t read the article and I hope you didn’t either. I am dying for someone to sign that guy just so his name doesn’t bloody keep being linked with our club. I have nothing against the guy whatsoever. I have not seen enough of him to form my own judgement, the reason why it angers me so much is because it is completely fabricated, and keeps getting churned out almost on a weekly basis.
Don’t the press get a little embarrassed putting out transfer rumours when the transfer window is nowhere even close to being open. Having said that I expect the amount of clicks and newspapers sold is masking that embarrassment somewhat.
Another quality piece of journalism is the Arsenal’s Cesc being driven into Real Madrid arms the whole spitting thing has got to be the straw that broke the camels back. Yeah, you know what? you’re so right. Shall I go and help him pack his bags? I am surprised that they went with Real instead of Barca. Maybe they felt like being brave. Idiots.
Anyway, I digress.
Gunnerblog wrote a piece titled Wembley is a fitting stage for Arshavin’s brilliance and I have to agree with that. Not only Arshavin but for the whole team. It is like young artists expressing themselves weekly on A4 paper, waiting for the chance to use a blank canvas, well now the players have that canvas to showcase their talents. The players will be so up for it, and focused as we are in many big games.
I just hope that we can steer clear of injuries from now until then, we don’t want to sell ourselves short in this one. This is a good chance to show the rest of the Champions League quarter finalists that we are the one team that they do not want to face.
It is going to be a nervous watch tomorrow, well it will be for me and many others. I quite like the idea of facing Barcelona over two legs. Much rather them than another English side, I think we could take them. The pressure would be off us and on them, we would be able to play our game and lastly it would be a fantastic football match. Messi vs Clichy, Cesc vs Xabi, Henry vs Sagna, Van Persie vs Puyol wow, that is tasty. It doesn’t seem right that Arshavin cannot play. We have that to look forward to next season I guess.
Right my stomach is pleading with me to finish this. Have a great day all you Gooners out there.
