Monsieur Wenger, if you are reading this (which obviously you’re not, you should be at work!) then lets go for a drink so I can clear my mind. Now wouldn’t that be cool?
Good afternoon to you all, Hope you had a great weekend.
After craving Arsenal for the whole week, I rather surprisingly didn’t even think about Arsenal not playing over the weekend, I guess being kept busy helps deflect away from addictions.
The injury curse is always not very far away, and it snuck up on Nicklas Bendtner whilst playing for Denmark and struck him in the knee, he was a doubt for the Manchester City game. But it appears that the Danish team doctor has given Bendtner the green light suggesting that his knee is not as sore as first feared. It would be a shame If he didn’t recover in time for the weekend game. It would be a blow for him, after he seems to have pushed his way into the first team. When he is rested in a cup game to feature away to Roma then you know he has been making the right steps.
It seems like Van Persie is also suffering from the curse. He has missed today’s training session for Holland and could miss the game on Wednesday with a groin strain. I have no idea how bad his situation is but I pray he is fit for the weekend.
I suppose with Van Persie out and possibly Bendtner, Adebayor making his long awaited comeback will be vital. Does anyone know what his overall performance was like because like many I only saw his goal. I am sure he will come back and score goals. He hasn’t played in the same team as Arshavin yet which will be interesting to see how he responds to Andrey’s quick thinking.
I tell you what is quite incredible. Adebayor has a strike rate of about 1 in 2 this season even though he has been below his best, even though he has missed many creative players from midfield. Someone copied some of his stats in a recent article from Ade and it is quite impressive. If Adebayor does come back into the team as the spearhead, does this mean the end of 4-2-3-1? Would Wenger consider moving Van Persie into the 3 behind the front man at this stage of the season?
As you may have guessed, I often have many questions that I would like answered. Monsieur Wenger, if you are reading this (which obviously you’re not, you should be at work!) then lets go for a drink so I can clear my mind. Now wouldn’t that be cool? A good old open chat with Arsene Wenger, you could learn so much from him. I may just have to call Jim’ll fix it and see what he can do.
The evil Spanish, clothes wearing, snarling Arsenal captain has been speaking in that aggressive manner of his about Arsenal still dreaming of the title.
The cocky Spaniard arrogantly said:
“I believe in miracles. It has happened before (winning the league from an outside position) in football so why not this year?
“But it is going to be difficult. Right now we have to think about catching Chelsea and then we will think about the others.
“But what we have to think about is winning the eight games we have remaining.”
The fact that he hasn’t mentioned the largely English Aston Villa shows disrespect to all the hard work that Martin O’Neil and his warriors have put in this season.
He then went on to over hype yet another Arsenal import
“You can see he (Arshavin) is a special player and when he plays everyone expects him to do something, We are very happy to have him.
“It is a shame he cannot play in the Champions League, but I am sure he can have a very big impact until the end of the season.”
He was clearly attempting to bribe FIFA into making changes to accommodate Arshavin into the Champions League, this is cheating and he should have a ban slapped on him.
I also think it is bringing the game into disrepute to publicly praise a player who went down rather easily to try and get a good old fashioned professional like Steven Taylor sent off. Luckily the referee saw sense and refused to bring out a red card for such a fair and honest tackle.
ok, before I get abuse that was tongue in cheek, back to what he said, I am excited about the link up between Cesc and Arshavin in the future. Two players with quick footballing brains and great technique should always be able to play well together. I always thought myself and Henry would work so well *ahem*
Hull City would like to an easier way to move forward. The Hull City Chairman sounds like he is making slow backwards steps. Hopefully he will soon fall off the balcony and he can drag Phil Brown and Brian Horton along with him.
Paul Duffen said:
If there could be an easier way of moving forward which was less of a drama then, of course, we would be happy with that,”
“There’s no question in my mind that Brian Horton, Phil Brown and the coaching staff and players saw something happen that evening. I’m sure the inquiry will find out all those facts.”
There is no question in my mind that Hull City should be worrying about their team getting relegated instead of messing around with Arsenal football club.
I hope they learn the hard way and get stuck back in the Championship.
Interesting (god, I use that word too much these days) goings on at board room level. Someone has upped their stake in the club and for once it is not Usmanov. Stan the man (not the wife beater) has bought 5,000 shares from Danny Fiszman. This brings the Americans stake up to around 20%
If you want to know the in’s and out’s of the current board situation then read Ivan Gazidis interview on Arsenal.com
Former great Robert Pires thinks that Arsene needs to add some more English forearm smashers to our talented squad.
Bobby said:
“Arsenal lack English players at the moment. That ingredient is very important and it’s missing.
“When I arrived, there were a lot of English players there and that is why we won. You need to have a mix in the dressing room. What I see now is that they lack that mix.
It was important during our time but I do not believe it was because they were English, I just think the likes of Parlour, Adams, Keown etc had the right attitude. They were winners, Vieira was a winner, not because he was French but naturally he wanted to win.
We need the correct characters like Cesc (the evil one), Van Persie, Toure, Arshavin etc.
Right, I am off, have yourselves a fine day.
