Gazidis has Wenger’s charm / Diaby & Denilson stuff

Denilson is a fine player and has had a super season in my opinion, his statistics say it all but I have to say, I have a soft spot for Diaby. Arsene hasn’t trusted the Cesc – Diaby partnership as yet but it would be nice to see them have a run together

What a nice day we have in London today, nice and bright with a hint of sun shinning over us, it is probably a sign that domestic football is around the corner.

New Chief Executive, well perhaps he isn’t so new anymore Ivan Gazidis has been bigging up our financial situation. He says that we can keep hold of our stars like Cesc Fabregas and Robin Van Persie

Gazzi said:

“Arsenal offers good money, it offers a great development programme, a superb environment so it is difficult for me to imagine why players would want to leave.

“I can’t guarantee success because success depends on those very players but am I confident that I can keep those players and we can make progress? Absolutely, very confident.”

Well said young man, I agree with you. Keeping the players we have is far far, I’ll say it again, far more important than going out and buying any new players, unless one of them is Messi of course. As long as we can keep our core fit for most of the season then we can more than challenge for the title and Champions League.

Gazidis also denied any restlessness from our captain.

“I can’t marry the stories that I read with the reality, which is that Cesc is extremely happy at Arsenal and totally committed to the club, and that’s every message that Arsene Wenger or I have ever received from him or his representatives.

“I am very confident that Cesc is committed to the club.

“You never relax about any situation but we are very confident that this team will stay together, progress together and achieve success together.

“The young players that we have and the manager we have believe we are doing something very special here.”

Is it me or does Ivan Gazidis have that Wenger factor about him? He is very easy to listen to and manages to say all the right things, not only that but he sounds very inspiring. The wait for a new CEO was stupidly long but very worth the wait I must say.

Can I change my drink with Wenger to a drink with Wenger and Gazidis? Give Arsene some double vodka and cokes so he can open up and tell me about how much of a wanker Ashley Cole is and who he is looking to sign in the future. At the end, Arsene, Ivan and myself can stumble out of the bar at 2am and start a fight with a cabbie or DJ or something like that. Ok, maybe not the last bit but it is a humorous thought,

I was watching our 1-0 victory at Old Trafford on Arsenal TV last night, you know the one where we won the league? Yep that one. It was such an immense display. Our midfield were so strong in front of our defence. Parlour and Vieira were outstanding. I was also watching Spotlight with Abou Diaby, he really seems like a good bloke. He really needs to stay fit, if he does then there is no reason why he cannot emulate Paddy. He has already developed his defensive side of his game, he just needs a good run in the side.

Denilson is a fine player and has had a super season in my opinion, his statistics say it all but I have to say, I have a soft spot for Diaby. Arsene hasn’t trusted the Cesc – Diaby partnership as yet but it would be nice to see them have a run together.

Slightly off topic, but is it me or is appointing Alan Shearer as your manager when you are fighting relegation a stupid idea? He has no experience as a manager. You are choosing a man to do a job purely down to the fact that he scored many goals for them. It is like employing Ian Wright to look after finances at Arsenal.

Anyway I hope they stay up just one place above the relegation zone, with Hull City just underneath them.

Right, gotta dash. Fingers crossed that all of our players return without anymore bloody injuries.
