Ever since our last trophy in 2005 , every year more of our experienced players have left , and Wenger seemed uninterested as he was developing his latest “project” , It was – and maybe still is – an experiment , but in these past few weeks it looks like the final pieces are coming together .

We have been in a rich vein of form , confidence is high & goals are being scored . Our blips during the season look to really have been mostly due to injuries. But we have shown that our squad depth is really as good if not better than most teams in europe , especially considering the back four that played against villareal and still kept a clean sheet.

I was thinking that we still maybe need a tall commanding defender even if Gallas decides to stay at the club. More importantly a defensive midfielder to complete the project, but out of nowhere Alex Song starts imposing himself , I think its really remarkable how he progressed and transformed throughout the season , with his best performances coming in the past few games . But the real tests are coming thick and fast begining with Chelsea on saturday . If he’s the solution to our defensive mid problems , theres no better time to show us all why wenger kept faith in him , hopefully Song together with the rest of the squad are up to it .

Can’t wait for the coming weeks , we really missed challeging for trophies , it’s great to be there & challenging , hopefully we will until the final day of the season , not just that but hopefully we end up with two trophies . A season that seemed destined for disaster is shaping up to be one of our most important seasons in recent history , If we dont win a trophy this experiment might just crumble with more players leaving in the summer , but if we do ……….god if we do , everything will fall into place & the makings of one of arsenals best teams will have commenced as wenger imagined and believed it would , & considering the average age of our team, we would be looking at many more years full of success.

C’mon you gunners , lets do it lets be the best , and to all you fans going to the chelsea game please never stop making noise no matter what happens , the players need us so lets be there .
