The lovely guys at the Daily Mail are on the verge of selling Tomas Rosicky, as you know they are in charge of all Arsenals transfers
Our prays have been answered, praise the footballing gods out there.
Manuel Almunia and Johan Djourou are back in full training and should take to the pitch against Middlesbrough and more importantly Manchester United on Wednesday. Emmanuel Adebayor is also fit after his rest and I would expect him to get some minutes under his belt before Wednesday’s big clash.
Those two defensive players will really steady the ship, we have looked very uncomfortable at the back since our injuries.
Not so good news is that Robin Van Persie will be out of Saturday and Wednesday’s game which of course is a blow but it is in an area that isn’t so important to our squad at presence.
At Old Trafford you would expect Arsene to play Adebayor on his own up front with a midfield supporting him which could have meant another out of position game for Van Persie had he of been fit so in a twisted sort of way it could be a tiny blessing in disguise. I guess Wenger’s dilemma is now to choose between Denilson alongside Song with Cesc pushed forward or Diaby playing in the advanced position with Cesc dropping back to partner Song.
Anyway, this is not even the Boro preview let alone the United preview so I shall leave that there for now. I will mention that more good news is around the corner. Gael Clichy who Myles Palmer said would be out for the season should be back in full training next week. So he could come back for the 2nd leg at the Emirates.
It would be a shame for Kieran Gibbs who has been terrific in Clichy’s absence but in my eyes Clichy is the best left back I have ever seen when on form. His final ball clearly needs work and I am sure he is doing his best to improve that side of his game but the way he comes in out from nowhere to nip in and win the ball from an opponents foot then run 50 yards forward at pace is nothing short of breathtaking.
Nicklas Bendtner has told the Arsenal fans that they are yet to see the very best from him so far.
Bendtner said:
“People have not seen everything yet – there is a lot more to come and when people realise that, things will become even better. If I have had a setback I would say it was this season when I had two months where I could not score or put a foot right. So many times you see a striker play an horrific game, yet he scores one goal and everyone is raving – while you can play an amazing game, miss two chances and you are rubbish.
“It happens to everyone, but the most important thing is that you come out of it strongly. The Arsenal fans know my game, so because they know I can do better they get upset when they see me not producing. If they see one level and you drop from that they are not going to be happy, just as I am not either.”
It just shows that these players are human and have feelings just like the supports of the clubs. That is why booing your team does not sit with me. It is almost like some fans feel that certain players are purposely trying to spoil our club.
Bendtner has had spells of inconsistency this season which is pretty understandable for a player of 21 who is not always getting games. No bad how you feel a player is I think you can only really judge someone when they have had a run of 10-15 games together.
Bendtner could start on the weekend with Adebayor coming off the bench to gain some match sharpness and fitness.
I wonder what sort of physical shape Eduardo Da Silva is in. We haven’t seen of him since his last injury and if he is to play a part in the final run in he will need to get more games under his belt.
The lovely guys at the Daily Mail are on the verge of selling Tomas Rosicky, as you know they are in charge of all Arsenals transfers. They have decided that we no longer need a squad because it is too big, but please do not mention that they have said it is too small in the past.
If you find the time then have a read of the article on the Daily Mail.
The reality is that at this stage of the season it would be too much of a risk to throw him in the deep end. He needs to get a pre season under his belt and start again next season.
Rosicky’s agent Pavel Paska said:
“The situation is that Tomas would be able to start in the last two fixtures if the intensity of training sessions was enormous, and it is not necessary to take this risk.”
“This is the last delay. Everything is heading in a way for Tomas to be prepared properly for the next season. It looks that, if he wants to reach this goal, he will not be having holidays this time as he will be preparing for the next season all summer.”
If Robin Van Persie, Marc Overmars and Gael Clichy can do it then there is no reason why Tomas cannot do the very same and come back stronger and fitter next season.
Right, time to go. Enjoy your Friday, match previews and thoughts over the weekend.
