Arshavin would be taking the league by storm, the Gallas – Vermaelen partnership would be a revelation, Wenger would have a selection headache in attack where the likes of Van Persie, Adebayor and Eduardo were all in double figures
I am feeling my age today, I feel like I am trapped inside an 75 year old body. I remember the days when I could play for hours go home for dinner then pop back out for a few more hours and continue playing football until the evening. Those were most certainly the days.
Yesterday our captain Cesc Fabregas had a nasty fall and was taken off with a head injury playing for Spain. My suggestion to him is to go home put his feet up take some paracetamol and turn down the volume on his television set until pre season starts. I have a fear of injuries, it keeps me awake at night, I wake up in cold sweats shouting “DON’T TAKE VAN PERSIE AGAIN!!” it is a recurring theme. Ok maybe I am over exaggerating slightly but that is not to say that I am not scared of injuries.
Wouldn’t it be nice if at the start of pre season we had the whole (Whole as in everyone from our squad fit to choose from) squad available to pick from and they all trained hard and reached match fitness and sharpness together so when Arsene had to select his team to play the first Premier League game of the season he could do what he wished. Then after 6 months we encounter our first injury. Emmanuel Eboue out for a week with a minor strain. All the players would be sharp and the players would have all gelled together as Manchester United were last season,
Arshavin would be taking the league by storm, the Gallas – Vermaelen partnership would be a revelation, Wenger would have a selection headache in attack where the likes of Van Persie, Adebayor and Eduardo were all in double figures and young Jack Wilshere’s cameo performances have taken the world by storm.
I want the league to start again now, I have excited myself a little too much.
According to our friends in the press our best central defender William Gallas is leaving the club to make way for Thomas Vermaelen. We do not know what will happen with him after the whole fall out in the winter but what we do know is that he has shown his quality since then and proved to everyone what a class act he is. He hasn’t said a word to the media since then so it is difficult to guess what his intentions are in regards to his future. I for one, hopes he stays for at least one more year. It is no coincidence that our season fell apart once he was ruled out for the season against Villarreal.
As much as I hope that both Toure and Gallas stay at the club I have a feeling that we could see one of them depart during this summer window, I would like to be wrong.
Sebastien Bassong has come back into the picture today, apparently the Newcastle United defender is being tugged by both Arsenal and north London rivals (well, so called rivals) Spurs.
I suppose we shall be hearing a few of these stories for a while yet. Nothing concrete just player x leaving team y to go to Arsenal for price z. Endless possibilities, you can have hours of fun. I am beginning to think I am in the wrong job. I might have to check the Daily Mail and see if they have any jobs going. My spelling and grammar not being the best shouldn’t put them off either.
Arsenal’s exit door is set to open once again with Croatian striker and fans favourite Eduardo Da Silva a possible target for German side Wolfsburg as a replacement for Milan bound Edin Dzeko. A source claims that Eduardo is unhappy with lack of chances in the first team since the end of last season. Eduardo’s likely departure is rumoured to have opened a big rift between the players which would have given Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger nightmares as Manchester City and Tottenham close in on next seasons Champions League spot.
See you believed me for a minute didn’t you? That is about the quality of journalism these days. I would recommend that you treat these rumours and stories with the customary pinch of salt unless you hear something from the player or more importantly our club.
More crap is being spouted about Theo Walcott defying Wenger or being at logger heads with his manager etc which is obviously nonsense. I am sure Wenger doesn’t agree with the situation but I am also sure that there is no problem with our player and manager. I don’t know why I allow the media rubbish to get to me, we should all be used to it by now.
