Lesson number 1: Before making any judgements on a so called story, search for the original source first which I would have done before writing yesterday’s blog but I didn’t have time to do so
I am writing this in a strange mood today. Not really feeling in the mood for writing so I won’t rant on too much. I was a massive Michael Jackson fan when I was growing up and his passing has made me feel somewhat flat today I must say. Any other musician wouldn’t have the same effect.
Anyway, well done for Cesc Fabregas for coming out once again and telling the British media to piss off once again, how sick and tired would you be, having to deny made up crap about you time and time again.
Surely in 2009 something should be done about completely fabricated nonsense about you being printed. Why is that allowed? Where do you draw the line?
When the public buy a newspaper because of a story or click on a link to read an article then surely that person wants the truth? Surely they want fact instead of twisted nonsense to give a completely different impression. If I bought the Sun newspaper then could I get refunded for selling me complete and utter lies.
Lesson number 1: Before making any judgements on a so called story, search for the original source first which I would have done before writing yesterday’s blog but I didn’t have time to do so.
Lesson number 2: Not sure, but a lesson number 1 looks strange on its own.
I then began thinking (which yes, it hurt) how many times do you see stories of good ol Franky Lampard, Stevie G, Wazza, Joey Cole and good ol John Terry’s comments being twisted to make it sound like they want out to Barca or Real?
Is it because I only really read Arsenal news that I see it all the time or are we targeted by the sporting media?
I honestly cannot think of one story that says that the above want out to join someone else. They must have used Drogba and Ronaldo (even though he made it pretty clear what he wanted) but I cannot think of many more.
In the last couple of weeks, Cesc, Adebayor, Sagna and Clichy have all been leaving. Oh even Andrey Arshavin was going back to Zenit or some crap. I could well go on but I’d be here pretty much all day and I don’t want that and neither do you.
Anyway, Cesc made his feelings perfectly clear.
Cesc said:
For anyone who is unclear or may have misunderstood what my position is, let me make myself absolutely crystal clear,” he said. “I am wholeheartedly committed to Arsenal and my future lies with this great club. The spirit in this squad is fantastic and we have the ability and mentality to compete on all fronts for silverware.
“I continue to say the same thing over and over again, but it appears that every time I have spoken to the Spanish media recently, my words have bounced back to England, leaving question marks about my future. It is a fact that we have not won a trophy for four years and yes, I am angry about that, but that anger stems from the deep deep desire I have to win things with Arsenal,”
“I care about this club and believe in this team. I am proud to captain this team and proud to wear the shirt. It really upsets me when people express my thoughts otherwise. Make no mistake, we are focused and determined to show that we are capable of achieving great things together.”
That sounded pretty damn clear to me. Although I do think he will up sticks at some point in his career it will not be in the near future. If he played in Spain first and then came to us it could be another story but it is not something we should focus on, he is the Arsenal skipper and a key part to our plans, so is our manager end of story for now. Lets get on with it and win some trophies.
There is some more bullshit about Milan wanting Adebayor but like the Cesc stuff, I cannot be bothered to talk about it. Wenger said he wants to keep everyone stop the rubbish.
Gotta cut short today, going out to see a dog about a man or something like that.
Back tomorrow.
