Robin & youngsters commit to Gunners, will Adebayor stay a Gunner?

Now of course someone wanting to play for Arsenal means nothing more than just that, much more has to be done for a transfer to go through like for example, Arsenal being interested in the player

Applogies for my no show yesterday but I am back today with a short summary of what has been going on in the world of the Arsenal.

It has been announced at last that Robin Van Persie has signed a new contract that will keep him tied to Arsenal until 2014. So far so good as far as keeping our key players together goes. Walcott and Van Persie are the seniors and then the club have turned to the youngsters.

First it was Ramsey, then Jack Wilshere and now Kieran Gibbs have put felt tips to paper. It appears that the club are doing their best to tie down (not literally) the young stars of the future. I do believe that they will all be actually stars as well. Forget the Galacticos at Real Madrid, former or present. These kids will grow and develop to be the real (no pun intended) deal.

The difference is this, instead of throwing over inflated ego’s together in the hope that they all get on and can be compatible on the pitch, these players will have grow up and developed together from a young age which will increase the potential of the team.

We have once again had to listen to the ramblings of Joan Laporta, she has been bitching about things once again. Cesc Fabregas has the DNA of Barcelona in his blood blah blah etc etc and then to add insult to injury he wants to respect Arsenal. You gotta laugh, it is not the first time he has done that either. Is that some clever way of tricking people into believing that he is not tapping up players.

I wish our club were as petty as myself, ok maybe I don’t but I’d love to reply to that.

Mean Lean speaking about Barcelona president said:

Joan Laporta is a disgusting, fake looking, sun tanning, woman naming, stinking twat. But of course I wouldn’t say anything disrespectful towards him.

Even the hacks will have trouble coming up with too many Cesc to Barca stories after our captain categorically stated his intentions.

So what of the Adebayor story? It certainly is looking like it is moving away from rumour to reality. I could be wrong but Wenger basically stating that it is up to Adebayor looks like if a decent bid comes in from a club that Adebayor and his agent like then he will up sticks. Adebayor has stated that he wants to stay at Arsenal but if that was 100% the case then Wenger would have said straight up that he is not for sale, end of story. There wouldn’t have been any question of possible replacements if someone leaves (someone being a striker I assume)

I did actually start writing something yesterday that started off as a My Vision article but instead took the Adebayor route, that is something I will put up after the weekend.

Interesting comments from Wenger regarding our striker. My only question is that if Adebayor has said that he will stay and Wenger said that he thinks he will stay then why would Wenger say that his future is up to him? It also appears that Wenger already has a replacement lined up in Moroccan striker Chamakh.

This could go two ways, either they have both agreed that he will stay or both Adebayor and Arsenal are waiting for an attractive bid from an attractive bid to come in which will allow Adebayor to leave Arsenal. Lets watch this space.

One bit of speculation that has been doing the rounds is that of Belgian youngster Eden Hazard. Apparently the 18 year old would love a move to Real Madrid or Arsenal.

He said:

“Real Madrid and Arsenal are the clubs I dreamed of joining as a child. If I joined Inter or Barcelona and could play football there then that would be very good, but Real and Arsenal are really great and play at a very high technical level.”

Now of course someone wanting to play for Arsenal means nothing more than just that, much more has to be done for a transfer to go through like for example, Arsenal being interested in the player. However I do remember this kid being linked to us last season. Perhaps he knows of Arsenal scouts being interested in him which would conveniently give him reason to love the club. Perhaps he does love us, or perhaps this is just the usual speculation.

In other news, it is said that Manchester United fans are furious with manager Alex Ferguson for replacing Ronaldo with a mid table winger. The anger went into overdrive last night when Ferguson signed crock Michael Owen to replace Argentinien international Carlos Tevez.

An unknown supporter said:

We cannot believe that this is happening, it is clear that our manager has lost the plot. While Arsenal are buying the likes of Arshavin we are paying more than double that for a lazy striker like Berbatov who has spent more time on the bench of late. Everyone knows that Michael Owen is past his best and his pace has gone. Now that we cannot buy players for silly money we are fearful that our manager will not know what to do from now on

Oh dear, very unhappy people out there.

Enjoy your weekend, probably back on Monday unless something happens that is worth writing about.
