Eboue to scupper any potential deal? / Can Adebayor return to best?

This of course makes any potential trade very difficult. Eboue is not going to sign for Fiorentia because Arsenal want him to, he will want to join the club that suits him best

I said yesterday that I would only write something if there was something new to talk about, well perhaps that is something I should say more often because transfer speculation has gone into overdrive.

The Melo – Eboue – Adebayor – Flamini rumours have all circulated around the blogs and sports media.

I assumed that Melo signing a contract extension would have stopped all the speculation regarding a transfer to Arsenal but it appears not to be the case. It all started with Fiorentina denying that Juventus had signed the midfielder. The beans were well and truly spilled when the club said the following.

“Arsenal is the only club to have come close to the sum established by the release clause,” read a club statement.

“Fiorentina in turn proposed to Arsenal a reduction in the amount by including right-back Emmanuel Eboue.”

I always thought that if we were in negotiations with a club then one of our rules is for the other club to not speak about it until the deal was done, this however doesn’t benefit the selling club as any public knowledge of a) their player being allowed to be sold and b) Arsene Wenger being interested in a player could see other clubs join the race which would possibly increase the players value.

Emmanuel Eboue has seemed a little unsettled of late judging by recent comments and it would be understandable if he wanted first team football every week from another club in another league. However Eboue’s agent Franjo Vranjkovic dismissed Fiorentina as not big enough for him?

Vranjkovic said:

“I honestly think that Fiorentina and Roma aren’t at Eboue’s level. The two clubs are not among the top ones in Italy, that’s the reality of it. But if any of the Milan clubs or Juventus come after him, that could change things. Inter have never contacted us but if they should call us we would be in Italy without any problems. But no one has called me.”

This of course makes any potential trade very difficult. Eboue is not going to sign for Fiorentina because Arsenal want him to, he will want to join the club that suits him best, whether that is financially or on the playing side, so we will really have to wait and see what happens there.

So to Emmanuel Adebayor. Arsene Wenger recently said that his future was down to him and it appears that he wants to stay at Arsenal football club after his agent said that his client wouldn’t be leaving the club.

Ac Milan were supposed to be getting ready, you know the whole preparation thing you have to do before you launch a bid, getting suited and booted, wearing their favourite aftershave, having the usual pre bid dinner etc. They also had a wrapped up Flamini in with the deal, forgetting that Flamini would have to take a substantial pay cut to rejoin Arsenal, the actual reason for his departure in the first place. Not to forget Arsene’s policy of not bringing back players who have already departed. I personally wouldn’t be very happy if I was an Arsenal player to see someone jump ship only to return to walk straight back into the side.

If he stays then I hope he can return to the form of two years ago, to be honest I do not see why he cannot. In his very strong year he had some fantastic creative players behind him, next season he could have Arshavin, Rosicky, Cesc and Nasri all creating chances for him. If he can stay fit and motivated then there is no reason why we cannot get even better out of him.

Anyway I am sure there will be more Adebayor twists and turns before the season starts.

Right that’s about that for now, must eat. I will write something tomorrow if something interesting happens *wink wink*
