I find it weird how some fans have seen the success we have had by bringing in an almost unknown 16 year old to one of the best midfield players in the world.
Well hello to you again,
A round of internationals took place last night and we anxiously await the injury news. I was watch the likes of Lampard, Rooney and Ferdinand walk out onto the pitch against Holland and secretly hoped that they would all leave the field with long term injuries but that is usually all it is, just a little puny hope. Unfortunately our rivals do not seem to be in the habit of picking up injuries as frequently as we do.
But its ok, because apparently everything evens itself out! erm.. who started spreading that nonsense as fact? Sometimes you can have a season full of good luck, sometimes you can have rotten luck throughout the whole season, and yes it can be balanced but there is no rule that says everything in football is fair all the time.
Eduardo continued his insane goal scoring record for Croatia with a poachers tap in, in a 3-1 victory against Belarus. It will be interesting to see how often he features during the season. I have a hunch that Wenger will be holding him back until a certain date that he has in his head. Who knows when that date is, only our manager knows that. This may of course be nonsense but I do not see Eduardo starting the season.
I guess that the front three will consist of Arshavin on the left, Van Persie playing through the middle and Nicklas Bendtner on the right (at least until Walcott is match fit)
We shall see where Wenger goes after that.
According to the Sun one player who will not be a part of our front line is Marouane Chamakh. Apparently we will not increase our bid. Reading through the mini article, it doesn’t give any source or anything new so I wouldn’t take it very seriously until the transfer window closes.
Fancy some more bull? Well apparently us fans have an anxious wait until Tuesday to see if Cesc Fabregas is going to Barcelona? My word, when will it stop. Surely repeating the same crap over and over and over again is just a tad embarrassing is it not?
Ok, back to reality.
Cesc Fabregas thought that Arsenal were having second thoughts about bringing him to north London as a 16 year old.
“The Spanish scout told me after Arsenal signed me that they had come to see me 44 times,” he said at a Members’ Day forum last week. “I thought ’44 times? They aren’t very sure about me!'”
“But when I came here to talk with the boss, he was the one that really came to talk to me. He cut his holiday short to come and see me as a 16-year-old. For me, that was a big honour.”
It kind of shows why Arsene does not make many mistakes in the transfer market, each player is watched in detail for a period of time before any decision is made. Obviously you are going to get some wrong, every manager has made buys that haven’t worked out. An example of this is Diego Forlan who looked like a complete waste of money at Manchester United, nowadays he is seen as one of the best strikers in European football.
Going back to Cesc for a second, I find it weird how some fans have seen the success we have had by bringing in an almost unknown 16 year old to one of the best midfield players in the world. Surely having a club full of talented youngsters makes you wonder how many more world class players we will have in future.
Perhaps I do not mind looking into the future a little more than some and that could be the reason. When Wenger says that people in England lack patience then I would have to agree. These days the media will not accept a single year without a trophy (unless it is Liverpool) so you can see how it gets into fans minds.
Before Wenger, we didn’t win the league every year and we played less attractive football with players who had less quality. Question for you, would you go back to pre Wenger years?
I kinda didn’t think so.
Before I go I would like to let you know that there is a change to the Your Vision section, I am now adding a response to all the articles that are published. I promised to let writers have their own say even if it is totally against my own but what I didn’t want was the site to be judged on other opinions, so I thought it may well be a good idea to have a say also.
