I get the slight fluttering feeling in my stomach when I think about the kick off to the new season. That intense feeling of not wanting to lose a single game is already here at the very beginning.
I cannot remember the last time we had such a difficult first few weeks to a league season. We all want a quick and impressive start on Saturday so we can take it into the coming games. Momentum will be important even at this early stage.
The injury rumours that were flying around after the International matches do not seem to be totally true as the likes of Van Persie and Bendtner seem to be perfectly available for the Everton clash. Theo Walcott, Johan Djourou and Lukasz Fabianski will be missing along with Rosicky and Nasri, which will only really damage the squad as apposed to the team since we knew we would be missing Nasri and Rosicky for a few weeks now.
Everton thoughts and predictions later on.
Arsene Wenger has been doing a very good impression of my girlfriend by doing plenty of talking. He has been talking to Martin Samuel from the Daily Mail (yeah I know) it is a very interesting read. I do not usually like linking to the daily mail but you can read it HERE. Part two of that interview comes out on Monday.
Many subjects are being extracted from his comments over the last few days. Especially the fact that he says that he doesn’t see incidents to protect his players.
Wenger said:
“At times I saw it, and I said I didn’t to protect the player,” said the 59-year-old Frenchman. “It’s because I could not find any rational explanation to defend him. This is a job where you have to have an optimistic view of human nature or you become paranoid,”
“You always have to think that a guy wants to do well. A coach is there to help. He must think that if he helps in the correct way the players will respond. You cannot be suspicious.”
For those who have been paying attention, would already know that Wenger does not use the media to criticize his players. Any issues that have to be dealt with are done internally so this is something that we already knew. Wenger wants to be respected by his players and the way to do that is to show respect to them. The likes of Phil Brown who decided to lecture his players on the pitch at half time have much to learn.

I tell you what, it is bloody hard to follow this pattern, so I am not sure quite what is going to happen. My guess is that he is definitely off in a cut price £4.5 million, because we are Arsenal. *sigh*
The latest transfer goodies, are Eboue going to Barcelona and Chamakh going to West Ham or something like that, although a bid has been rejected. Who bloody cares.
