UEFA hypocrisy knows no boundaries & Eboue for Manchester United?

As far as I remember this is the FIRST time Eduardo has gone down in the box easily and now he is being made to look like a murderer. Serial offenders like Mickey ‘betting’ Owen

I should be starting off with the Champions League draw because on paper it looks fantastic but I am still somewhat frothing at the mouth at the reaction to Eduardo’s dive. Like I mentioned in the Match Thoughts. I do not like to see our players diving. I don’t like to see any players for any clubs dive and it is something that will have to be looked at from the powers that be. But my question is the same as most Gooners. Why is an incident that happens every weekend now blown up and highlighted?

Many will know that I think that the media have an agenda with our football club, I do not know why this is, I have my theories but I knew that reaction would come from the likes of the Daily Mail, ITV, The Sun etc but how can Platini and his gang have the cheek to start enforcing a ban. What????

So the rules are, if the referee catches you diving you get a booking but if it is missed (oh, and you play for Arsenal) then you potentially get a two match ban? I’m seriously struggling with the logic?

Is there no longer any attempt of subtlety when it comes to trying to bring our club down. Didier Drogba goes into a full swan like action when he dives, Wayne Rooney looks like an Elephant collapsing after being shot and nothing is done about it. NOTHING.

As far as I remember this is the FIRST time Eduardo has gone down in the box easily and now he is being made to look like a murderer. Serial offenders like Mickey ‘betting’ Owen, Wazza ‘Granny loving’ Rooney and fricking Stevie ‘thug’ Gerrard are praised for their professionalism.

If I think about the unjust too much I may end up in a straight jacket screaming ‘it’s not fair, it’s not fair’ so the way I am going to look at it is that this anti Arsenal campaign can only bring our club together, to make us fight that extra hard to show that backs to the wall mentality that we used to have. Anything that can make us stronger is a good thing, right?

*Exhale…*

So what of this draw malarkey? I gotta say it looks pretty pleasing doesn’t it? We are more than capable of being all the teams and the travelling should be pretty straight forward as well.

For once in our lives we have an easier group than Manchester United, perhaps lady luck has finally got her season ticket at the Emirates this year. Perhaps recent injuries was her way of showing how unhappy she was going to Stamford Bridge and Anfield last season. Well Lady, you stay as long as you like. Anything you want please ask and we will see what we can do for you. (gotta keep her sweet you see)

GROUP H
ARSENAL
AZ ALKMAAR
OLYMPIAKOS
STANDARD LIEGE

We SHOULD get through that group, and should end up first if we do not send out reserve teams after we have qualified like we have done in the past but that is for the future.

The present is Manchester United at Old Trafford which is nervy but exciting. We are going there in our best form for a long while. I cannot remember being as confident as this for a good few years now. I want to bring a question to the table if I may. I present you Emmanuel Eboue. Two back to back games he has played very well, and he would have to be a serious option at Old Trafford, his pace and direct running would benefit our side not to mention his ability to track back and win the ball. The great thing is now that we have options, and hopefully which ever players who feature at Old Trafford can make a big impact.

I have so much more to say but time will not let me walk any further, so I shall contain it in a bottle and open up again tomorrow for the Manchester United pre match thoughts whoo hoo!!

Back again tomorrow.
