I do not condone violence at all but when someone goes around doing that to your team mates then you can expect some retaliation. I suspect that the referee’s would have spoken about this and any deliberate foul play will be stamped out
I almost had the cheek to say happy Monday to you, and for that I apologise. There cannot be anything happy on a Monday after losing so miserably on the weekend. I must admit, I found it tough to write about the match. For once I managed to find some time after the game to write about the afternoon and I attempted to do so but I just sat there. Writing down one or two words then deleting it. Images of Adebayor’s screaming face as he ran down the pitch to celebrate his goal. The refereeing decisions or non decisions when it came to assault on our players, the non decisions when Manchester City players were standing in offside positions as Barry swung the ball in. Booking Alex Song for swiping at Adebayor after he kicked him.
I didn’t know where or how to start, so I left it and considered pulling out my own teeth with a pair of pliers, not really the truth but it would have been more fun than revisiting that game again.
I eventually wrote something about it last night which you can read (don’t blame you if you don’t) HERE.
So it looks like something will be done about that man after his shameful antics. I hope they throw the book at him, one of those proper heavy and hard books. Angle it so the edge of the book hits his eye. I could get far more graphical but it is not after 9pm (If you are reading after that then just say nothing and play along)
I sort of want to change the subject from that game but there is nothing else to talk about.
Who would have thought, Nicolas Anelka and Ashley Cole now seem like nice down to earth lads who wouldn’t say a bad word about anyone. Ruud van Nistelrooy almost seems like a guy I can have a beer with after what Adebayor did. The return at the Emirates will be a very tense and hostile place that is for sure. Whisper it quietly but I am not sure that the Arsenal players will be so warming to him this time round. I wonder who will step up and dish it back because he has it coming. I do not condone violence at all but when someone goes around doing that to your team mates then you can expect some retaliation. I suspect that the referee’s would have spoken about this and any deliberate foul play will be stamped out (excuse the pun) instantly. What are the odds on a red card? easy money me thinks.
Another man who is working his way up the ‘I hate you with all my heart’ ladder is Stanley Collymore. He seems to be obsessed with Arsene Wenger being sacked. I refuse to listen to his shite Talk Sport show anymore when the same unimaginative pundit tosh spills out of his mouth time and time again.
To his credit he sat on the fence a little more this time round but his ‘article’ I think that is what you call it in the mirror is almost laughable.
It went like this..
Aside from all the furore over Emmanuel Adebayor’s antics, Arsenal fans are growing impatient again at the prospect of a fifth season without a trophy.
Most Gunners fans who call my TalkSPORT show demanding Arsene Wenger’s resignation are armchair fans who have not been to the game and their knee-jerk reaction is based on hearsay.
But a word of warning to Monsieur Wenger: there were a few callers on Saturday from fans who were at Eastlands and they were unhappy about the lack of experienced defensive cover.
And Arsenal’s reluctance, or inability, to spend big in the transfer market may be reaching the stage where the grumbles of a minority grow into a more substantial mutiny.
And there you have it. Deep, intelligent, thought provoking stuff from Stan wife beater Collymore.
ok, before writs are cut I would like to share some love, give some positivity about the club you love. Step forward little Tomas Rosicky. Our little midfield genius is back and what a difference he brought to the side. He is not yet match fit and can make that kind of impact to a game. His little buzzing shuffling runs have been missed and we will soon realise what we have missed. Along with Nasri our football will improve, we will dominate teams more and score more goals. Wenger will be patient with him and that is more than understandable after one set back after another.
Little Tommy has been speaking about his return to Gunners action.
Rosicky said:
“I enjoyed those 55 minutes against San Marino,” he told his official website. “That match has shown me that all my footballing skills are back in the right place. I was trying to avoid some tackles, but sometimes I did not manage to and picked up some knocks – not serious though.
“I needed that game to see someone make a slide tackle on me. I cannot be satisfied with my performance if my team has lost,” he added. “But I had the feeling that I was useful to the team.
“I am far from my ideal performing level but think I can be helpful to the team in my current shape. I am back and all right in terms of football skills but the crucial thing is that my body needs to get used to the enormous weekly workload.”
I could tell that he was pulling away from tackles which sort of makes the choice of playing him in midfield instead of swapping him for Diaby a little strange, however it is great to have him back lets just hope it is from now on.
Another piece of good news is the rumour that we could well be offering big Willy G a new contract which would be just fine and dandy. He looks like a spring chicken at the moment and looks rejuvenated alongside his new defensive partner.
Fingers crossed that something will develop and he will continue at Arsenal. With Johan Djourou being injury prone and Senderos not in favour we cannot afford to let Gallas leave and have to make even more adjustments to a team that need stability.
Right, that is about that. Back tomorrow.
