Why Rosicky may be back on the bench

I am sure Arsene will be very careful with the amount of times he will use Tomas as he will not want to put any strain on his body. This is why I expect Rosicky to be back on the bench

Don’t you just hate seeing Adebayor’s name all over NewsNow? What does he have to do with Arsenal? I do not give a monkey’s about what he feels about his fine or what Mark Hughes thinks about his player.

A strange start to this blog but it was getting on my nerves and it needed sharing. You know what old saying; a problem shared is a problem halved or something along those lines.

I would much rather talk about the progress of Tomas Rosicky, who is very much an Arsenal player. He is looking at a possible new contract at Arsenal.

“I spoke recently to the boss about a new contract,” said Rosicky. “We haven’t started negotiating yet and we’ll see what happens.

“I want to stay and my fitness is getting better and better. You miss the Champions League and the Premier League when you are out for so long.”

I suppose there is no rush at this point in time regarding a new deal for Tomas, he has been away from the first team set up for some time. The last time he played for Arsenal we had Mathieu Flamini, Alex Hleb, Emmanuel Adebayor, Kolo Toure etc

It is great to have him back, he hasn’t even needed any time to readjust to life at the top level, he has natural ability and has shown that even in his first game at Barnet. I am sure Arsene will be very careful with the amount of times he will use Tomas as he will not want to put any strain on his body. This is why I expect Rosicky to be back on the bench again even though he was taken off early in midweek.

He also spoke about the amount of players we have competing for the same position.

he said:

“It’s always huge competition for places. When you can see how many offensive players we have – against Olympiakos, Eduardo, Nicklas Bendtner, Theo Walcott, Samir Nasri and Carlos Vela did not start – we have many, many options.

“I definitely think our squad is as good as all our rivals. Even when we lost twice in Manchester we made stupid mistakes and just need to learn from them.”

Did I every say that I agree? Well I do. We have a fantastic squad and for those who watched the Manchester United, Sunderland match at Old Trafford can take a lot of comfort from the quality on offer, or the lack of it.

If I didn’t know who any of the players were then I would have guessed that the players in white were the ones who had won the league for the last three years.

Apart from Wayne Rooney and Berbatov I cannot see a match winner in their whole squad. Look at our squad and it is a totally different ball game in my honestest humblest opinionest.

Only an hour until the match program starts so I shall depart. I will write my thoughts on Thierry Henry as manager later or tomorrow.

Enjoy the game.
