Reverse negative into positive – Step forward Mr Eduardo da Silva

His movement along the front line with the likes of Rosicky, Cesc and Arshavin all capable of finding him will be very interesting in the coming weeks. Eduardo uncharacteristically missed two great chances

There I was chuckling to myself at the potential of facing Chelsea with many of their stars out of action due to injury and then bam! The yearly Van Persie long lay off after international nothing game rears its ugly head once again. A nothing game has put a dent in our squad and a possible dent in his ankle.

I am praying that the results come back as bad bruising or something like that but it looks like wishful thinking on my part. After an initial reaction of rage I have calmed down and looked at the situation from another perspective, a much warmer place. And it goes a little like this.

Robin Van Persie has had a very good season so far, scored goals and has assisted in his fair share also so he will be difficult to replace in the short term but at least it is in the right area of the pitch. We are scoring from all angles and had a squad full of attacking talent who know where the goal is, which is shown in the amount of different scorers we have had so far. One mans pain will be another mans gain. Eduardo Da Silva arguably the best finisher at the club will at last get his chance to have a run of games in his favoured position. He has been pushed to the left wing since Van Persie has continued to shine in the central role.

At the end of the day it is a squad game and we have a very talented and deep attacking squad that has been built to deal with rotation and injury. We are not bringing in a 17 year inexperienced player to replace the Dutchman we are replacing him with a player who has just come off the back of scoring twice for Croatia. Eduardo is a different animal to Van Persie, Van Persie recently dismissed that he was a killer (it wouldn’t be wise to admit that sort of thing to be honest) but his Croatian team mate certainly is.

His movement along the front line with the likes of Rosicky, Cesc and Arshavin all capable of finding him will be very interesting in the coming weeks. Eduardo uncharacteristically missed two great chances against Tottenham and hopefully that is now out of his system and he will be able to help the team continue its run of scoring freely.

Now if Eduardo picks up a knock or two then it gets difficult as Nicklas Bendtner is ruled out for a while with a groin problem. Perhaps Theo will get his chance or Vela could return to the side, let us not think too far ahead. As it stands we have lost one great player through injury but luckily we are able to replace him with another great player.

Hopefully this shoots down the very stupid Eduardo to Liverpool rumours that for some reason are making headlines. How can stupidness like that and Tottenham set to break the top four make headlines when they are ridiculously idiotic.

Why on earth would Eduardo want to take such a step down in quality? At least make it sound believable, gosh!

Ok back to the internationals and something positive has come of it (yeah I know, sounds crazy) Aaron Ramsey put on a master class in a Welsh demolition of Scotland. Ramsey looked head and shoulders above everyone on the pitch and contributed to every goal in a 3-0 victory. To be dominating games at the tender age of 18 is amazing, especially at International level. Can you hear that sound? It sounds very much like the loud knocking of doors.

Phillipe Senderos wants to hit the road Jack and never come back as he is fed up of sitting on the bench. He didn’t actually say that he was fed up of sitting on the bench but I am just guessing that he probably is.

Big Phil said:

“I need to seek a solution as I’m not playing for Arsenal, A change of clubs in the winter is an option – I am keeping all doors open.

“This is a difficult time. It is like a test that I have to come through, but I believe in God and have to stay strong.”

I do feel for the lad and wish him all the best when he does leave the club. I wouldn’t mind seeing him in the first team once more before he does head off, preferably in a home game that we win comfortably. If Gallas gets injured before the Chelsea game then you can all blame me for saying that.

ok well that is that for now. I am crossing every part of my body possible that we pick up no more injuries during this completely pointless stupid, insane, good for nothing international period. Apologies to fans of the qualifiers but I couldn’t really care less.

Let us think of what Eduardo can bring rather than what we lose with Van Persie.

Back tomorrow.
