The rest of our players are not even really injured, Wenger just wants to show off the depth of his creation, they are all chilling downing margarita’s, although Johan Djourou may have turned into an alcoholic by now
Injuries have stuck a spanner in the works of many of our past seasons and it is doing it’s best to do so once again but I say no, enough. It is time to snatch the spanner out of the hands of injury and stick up for ourselves. You think I am talking rubbish again don’t you? Well I’m not (I am really)
I present my first case, Kieran Gibbs. He refused to have a break, he said no to a fracture and just accepted a bruise. Now that is a real man, made of man stuff. Injury told Van Persie that he would be out for three months, guess what he went and did? yes you guessed it, he said get stuffed, I will take 4-6 weeks, 4-6 weeks by the time I finish this (pretty stupid I must say) article it would have probably reached 2 weeks and to show how manly Van Persie is, he is even going to spread some horse funk on his feet. Now that is a man on a mission.
The rest of our players are not even really injured, Wenger just wants to show off the depth of his creation, they are all chilling downing margarita’s, although Johan Djourou may have turned into an alcoholic by now.
Now that the internationals have finally been packed away we can get on with life although I guess the Irish would be well up for another bout of internationals to correct a wrongly decided winner from William Gallas. Thierry Henry’s basketball impression was interesting and you have to feel sorry for the Ireland players but hey this is football without the option of video technology. You cannot say the technology isn’t there but the cynic in me says that we will not see video evidence because it throw’s a spanner into the works of what the governing bodies really want.
I do not think football is as pure and fair as we would like to believe. There is too much money involved in football for it to be all clean and tidy. We have seen it in a much bigger scale in everyday life so why should football be excluded. Anyway, I would rather leave that where it is and talk of the game itself.
Robbie Keane has actually been saying things that I would agree with, after his squad comparison comments recently I didn’t think I would ever be saying that.
Keane said:
“They’re all probably clapping hands, Platini sitting up there on the phone to Sepp Blatter, probably texting each other, delighted with the result.”
“Germany had a chance of being in the (play-offs) as well. With two massive countries there’s no way in a million years is there going to be fair draw.”
oooooh angry are we? *said in a somewhat camp voice*
The way I see it, is that some of our Arsenal boys are going to the world cup and if this gives them confidence and happiness then that can only be good for Arsenal and ultimately that is what concerns me.
Andrey Arshavin will not be sharing the same happiness as Russia gave a pretty poor account of themselves against Slovenia who beat them 1-0 on the night and slipped through on the away goals rule.
Apparently Arshavin hardly had a kick as the game passed him by. So he will be relaxing during the summer months, I just hope he doesn’t turn to food as comfort, crying into his Pelmeni whilst watching Slovenia getting thumped by Spain or Brazil.
I was watching a clip of Arshavin from last season and I couldn’t help notice how streamlined he looked. I thought my eyes were deceiving me when I saw him during the pre season. It is a shame that he will not be going to the World cup, this could possibly be his last chance to play at the biggest stage in what should be his peak years so lets hope he can channel some of that frustration into winning trophies at Arsenal.
To end the international round up two more of our boys found the net. Emmanuel Eboue and Cesc Fabregas hit the target and could both well be starting against Sunderland.
I shall end today with a thank you and congratulations to Mr Eduardo da Silva on his new extended contract at Arsenal. There I was assuming that he was all packed and ready to head to Anfield. Now Eddie go out there and bang some goals in with that oh so sweet left peg of yours.
Back tomorrow for a pre match article! Whoo hoo, the real stuff is back.
