Arsenal have been given labels from journalists and pundits, many of which seem to be ex Arsenal players. They are churned out over and over again, even if the labels have no truth whatsoever
I am glad that Arsene has addressed the issue regarding the media. It has been going on for far too long now and I have felt that Arsene has always moved away from confronting the problem.
Arsene was basically speaking about how certain issues are blown way out of proportion whilst other incidents are conveniently ignored. It is quite amazing how Matthew Taylor’s behaviour at the Reebok has gone unnoticed. What I find rather peculiar is that it has been missed (more appropriately ignored) by all of the media outlets. I am talking about the likes of Sky, the tabloids and that stupid sports radio show Talk Sport. Instead the only subject on everyone’s lips has been that rather disgusting and life threatening karate kick by William Gallas on poor Mark Davies. This is how it has been portrayed and I don’t even think I am exaggerating.
Arsene Wenger pretty much smacked the nail firmly on the head when he spoke of the public being brainwashed by the media and I cannot disagree. It is only when you open your eyes and look at the bigger picture to you realise that not all is how it should be.
Some may suggest that any old story that can sell newspapers, gain clicks etc will be enough for a negative story to be written but I disagree. After the completely over the top furore reaction to the Eduardo ‘dive’ you could be mistaken for believing that the media had jumped on a story and Eduardo was just an unlucky recipient.
A few days later Ashley Young, you know that English winger who plays for a very English Aston Villa (now I am not for one moment suggesting anything) took a rather blatant dive for Villa in the Europa cup (I think) and nothing was mentioned, not anywhere. Well, you would be hard pressed to find any news on that.
Predictably Wenger is now being seen as a moaner or a whinger by the very same outlets so he cannot really win. The only possible neutral referee is our own fans but once you read around various blogs and comments sections you soon realise that some of our own fans have caught the virus. Not all mind, just some.

Clearly professional footballers are not immune to being brainwashed. Ricardo Fuller claims that by roughing us up and being aggressive.
Fuller said:
“The Britannia, it’s a like a fortress, and if we do play to our strengths, I don’t think Arsenal can deal with the aggressive play. It’s been proved in the past that Chelsea and Bolton have roughed them up and tried to bully them.
“We can also be rough and aggressive when we need to, but we have quality too, and so we can mix it up.”
A load of old and tired rubbish again from someone who is involved in the game. I would love to ask him the question, when was the last time we lost due to being ‘bullied’ as they call it?
Do we class Bolton Wanderers as a bullying side? 6 goals scored 2 conceded in two games. Are Sam Allardyce’s Blackburn Rovers a bullying side? 6 goals scored 2 conceded in one game. How about Stoke at the Emirates? I didn’t see much successful bullying going on. We won 2-0 and should have scored four.
It irritates me when people outside the club say that we were out muscled by Chelsea in our home defeat, that is as far from the truth as you are likely to find. They were far better organised and defended very well, we didn’t and they punished us. One another day with those very same 22 out on that pitch, we could have beaten them by the same score line.
You’d be hard pressed to show me players that can bully Song and Diaby, that’s for sure.
What we should expect from the home side is some more awful football. I forgot to mention in the match review about the lack of quality from Bolton at the Emirates.
Bolton came to the Emirates with the pretty usual 4-5-1. Kevin Davies on his own as the target man. All pretty normal so far right? Well, that is about how normal it was. All I remember is the central defender or midfielder playing the ball back to Jussi Jaaskelainen for him to whack it forward to Davies. It was astonishing. Time and time again the ball was being rolled back to the keeper even when they were at the half way line.
Was it that bad under Megson? If so, no wonder they wanted rid, it is truly awful. I know we are lucky to be supporters of Arsene Wenger’s teams, we are right up there in world football as the great entertainers but that is just not on.
Luckily I didn’t see the Stoke vs Liverpool game recently but I have heard it was truly disgraceful. I am going to make a bet with you out there. I bet Stoke do not put more than a six pass move together tomorrow.
Phil Senderos is now set for a move to Everton, after almost joining Celtic before nearly going to Genoa just prior to going to Spain. Just for the sake of writing about it, I would like this to end now for the good of life itself.
Some pre match Stokey stuff tomorrow, no doubt.
Back tomorrow.
Ps – Does anyone have any idea what our midfield three will be tomorrow?
