Buy Smalling or lose out, Wenger cannot win!

I know that I am not making that up because it leaves me feeling a little frustrated for several reasons. Firstly those same people quickly forget that Robin Van Persie, Cesc Fabregas, Gael Clichy and Alex Song

Hello and a very chilly afternoon to you from London. A few bits and pieces flying around today, typically I was waiting for Arsene’s press conference yesterday to include into my article as just as I posted it all the quotes starting coming through so I had missed it.

Big game tonight, don’t you think? Well I suppose every single game from now until we are champions the end of the season are going to be massive games, every game is worth three points on our overall points tally. You can read my match thoughts here

Before I speak about Arsene’s press conference I want to speak about the transfer window or more accurately Chris Smalling. Manchester United have had a bid accepted and are hoping to seal the deal, Arsene has said it ain’t over till its over like on a Hollywood movie so it will be interesting to see if we can nick him from them just as we did with Aaron Ramsey. That would be a laugh and a half.

But my point is more to do with the uproar from Gooners that Manchester United have had a bid accepted. Many Gooners have been complaining that we should be signing him and shouldn’t be so tight. You know what the interesting thing is? The amount of times Arsene has bought an up and coming player and certain sections say things like ‘Not another bloody kid!’ or ‘we have enough kids, we need experience’

I know that I am not making that up because it leaves me feeling a little frustrated for several reasons. Firstly those same people quickly forget that Robin Van Persie, Cesc Fabregas, Gael Clichy and Alex Song were players bought in exactly the same way but the main reason is that buying youth does not impact on Wenger’s thinking of the shorter term. We have seen it so many times already. In recent seasons we have bought Bacary Sagna, Samir Nasri, Andrey Arshavin and Thomas Vermaelen all bought and thrown straight into the team so this notion that Arsene only brings through kids is complete and utter codswallop.

You can bet your bottom dollar that those who are moaning about not having a bid accepted for Smalling are the same who were complaining that we signed our latest up and coming talent.

I know nuzink ov dis Smalling kid initt. I have never seem him play so I cannot comment much on him and at this point I have no reason to do so. If anything changes then I will do some research.

I swear I didn’t do as much research at school than I do now about football players.

I hear that Bolton are in pole position to take Jack Wilshere on loan for the remainder of the season, I am not so sure how I would feel about that if it were to happen. Unless Bolton have changed from a team full of long ball merchants to a passing side with attacking flair in a matter of days then I would rather Wilshere went elsewhere.

I am sure Wenger has already spoken to any potential clubs over the move and what their plans would be for Jack so who am I to question any move?

Right then, have to get ready to get home so I can chew my nails off. COME ON YOU GUNNERS!
