My advice to Loic Remy & Birmingham the focus not Barca or Eduardo

Even with our stupid never ending injury list I cannot see Arsene spending over £10 million shiny sheckles on a forward along with Van Persie, Chamakh (apparently), Bendtner, Eduardo, Vela, Walcott, Arshavin and then our youngsters. It is highly unlikely

A giant game is coming our way, a chance for Arsenal to show what they are capable of. Every Arsenal fan should be licking their lips at the prospect of this massive game. It will be shown on screens all around the world and if Arsenal are to come away with anything then only 100% will do. Yup, you’ve guessed it, we face Birmingham City in the league.

As exciting as a match against a Spanish inferior copycat Arsenal side is, it is pretty much nothing until the final whistle blows at St Andrews. Then the fun and ze games can begin.

I don’t quite know why it is, but not knowing the line up for this game and Wednesday’s game is bugging me a little. Even with key personnel out injured or suspended, the boss still has several options for both defence and midfield which is probably why we are in the thick of the title race despite having the worst injury record of the season so far (PhysioRoom.com)

It will be an emotional and physically demanding game tomorrow afternoon just as it was in our last visit to Birmingham. Whilst all the stories leading up to the game will be about Eduardo causing mental damage to gentle Taylor, Arsene Wenger and his coaching staff will no doubt be mentally moving his players away from those thoughts and back on the playing side of the game.

Nicklas Bendtner who took a knock against the not so appy ‘Ammers could well be back leading the line and he has had some more positive praise from one of the only men that matter in his career. His boss.

Wenger said:

“I saw Nicklas Bendtner in the reserves and he had an impact in the games,” the Arsenal manager recalled. “But you felt as well that he needed to go somewhere to toughen up. There is no better place in the world than the Championship to give a player a realistic view of how hard this job is.

“He went there and in fairness to him, he became a regular player straight away – that shows you he has the qualities to survive at the top level.”

Bendtner has been great since he has been back and with Van Persie apparently raising to the surface after being sunk to the bottom of the ocean in November, the pressure will be on the Dane to continue his form and better still improve on what he has provided so far in his short Arsenal career, well at least short in a first team sense.

I forgot to mention the Loic Remy news yesterday, probably because I ignored the article at the time. I have read his comments and I must say I like to hear players talk about our club like he has. Signing players who really want to be here just adds something a little special. Being a Gooner before you even join would certainly go a long way with the fans.

Trouble is Loic, I think perhaps he may have missed the boat. Maybe Remy was one of the forwards that Wenger tried to buy in the January window as a replacement for Van Persie but for whatever reason, the deal couldn’t be done. In the summer it could well look a little different. It seems to be common knowledge that Mr Chamakh has already decided to join Arsenal on a free.

Even with our stupid never ending injury list I cannot see Arsene spending over £10 million shiny sheckles on a forward along with Van Persie, Chamakh (apparently), Bendtner, Eduardo, Vela, Walcott, Arshavin and then our youngsters. It is highly unlikely.

My advice to Remy would be to keep being a Gooner, come down to the ground and help the stadium develop more of an atmosphere and one day when our circumstances are different Arsene could come back in for him.

In off pitch news, Gunners shareholder Stan the Kronk, Kroenke has picked up seven more shares at a cost of £8,500 each. The American is now only 10 shares short of the big 30%

Has anyone seen Usamov lately? He was so interested in Arsenal football club, his red and white holdings company had plenty of things to say on the club but now the club are doing well he has disappeared. Hmmm, sounds familiar.

More youngster news, Gilles Sunu who is on loan at Derby has now signed a new deal to keep him at Arsenal. There was plenty of talk of the French striker seeking pastures new but that can now be laid to rest.

Right, enough chit-chat back tomorrow with some pre match Brummy chat.
