I have been very impressed. A tough tackling tenacious midfielder who is calm on the ball and passes very well. A typical Wenger play if you like and I am sure he will be pushing Alex Song and Denilson in a few years time

Oh why did Tottenham go and beat Chelsea and start my hopes up again. As slim as they may be, they still exist. We now need to beat Wigan by a silly amount of goals to catch Chelsea’s goal difference, if we save it for the last 15 minutes then I think it may prove to be a little beyond us.
Having written that, I actually feel a little better now. For a moment I started to believe that it was possible but it is slightly on the far fetched side. The injury list has no more space left to write anymore names on but Denilson’s name will have to be squeezed on somehow as the Brazilian picked up a groin strain from the game at White Hart Lane. Craig Eastmond will get his chance to shine if Denilson doesn’t make it. It would be his 7th first team appearance of the season which would be fantastic for the young man who has pushed his way into the fringes of the first team after starting the season as a youth team full back.
From the little I have seen of Eastmond, I have been very impressed. A tough tackling tenacious midfielder who is calm on the ball and passes very well. A typical Wenger play if you like and I am sure he will be pushing Alex Song and Denilson in a few years time.
Wigan have recently relayed their pitch and that will suit both sides who like to keep the ball down and pass the ball but Arsene Wenger will want to see a little more from his side than passing the ball. He will want to see chances created as they were few and far between against Spurs before the introduction of a certain Robin Van Persie who could well be in the starting line up for the first time since our 4-1 victory at Wolves back in November.
Without the guile of Cesc and Arshavin much of the responsibility will land at the feet of Samir Nasri who has been playing well lately but hasn’t really carved out chances consistently. I am putting my money on Tomas Rosicky being rested to the bench. Eduardo da Silva is fresh and could play but I just do not see Wenger resting Bendtner while he is scoring goals. Had Bendtner played a full 90 minutes against Wolves then that change would be more likely.
I am intrigued to know how Wenger will shape his strike force. I ended up moving the players heads around about four different positions. My end conclusion is that Nicklas Bendtner has scored nine goals in eleven games and cannot be moved from a central position whilst being in such a hot streak. This also allows Robin Van Persie the luxury of avoiding the customary clobbering from center halves in which keeps his ankle in check. Whichever position the two play, should they start, you should expect plenty of rotation and chopping and changing between the two who both prefer to play as central players as apposed to wide areas.
One to watch: Robin Van Persie
His cameo against Tottenham reminded all Gooners of what we have missed in the last five months of the season. As long as he can overcome his aches and pains then he will get the platform to showcase his marvelous talent. The team have missed his movement, link up play and ability to use his technique to make something out of nothing.
Mean Lean’s Predicted Line Up

Mean Lean’s Match Prediction
Wigan 1 Arsenal 3 (Van Persie [2], Walcott)
Hopefully the boys can put the title out of their minds, relax and play their football. I would love to see an early goal which would mean starting in a very positive and offensive mindset. Theo Walcott and Van Persie managed to strike a good partnership in the past few seasons so hopefully they can continue where they left off at White Hart Lane.
COME ON YOU GUNNERS.
