England would have won the world cup with Theo playing

Theo now has the record for the longest consecutive winning run in an England shirt. Capello really did cock up didn’t he? All he had to do was play Theo in every game of the world cup

This is just wrong, it is not right. It is Saturday afternoon and I feel somewhat lost. Who took my Arsenal away from me? Oh yeah, of course, bloody international week. This football kidnapping cannot continue any longer.

I was hoping that Theo would carry his electric form over to England but it didn’t happen that way for many reasons. He didn’t play especially bad just not as dangerous as he is for Arsenal, obviously having lesser players around him last night didn’t help. I find it hard to look at it objectively because I am always looking out for it these days but from where I was seated (in my living room not Wembley) their seemed to be a friction between Rooney and Gerrard towards Walcott. Either they would turn away from the right and look for an outlet on the left or they would throw their hands up in disgust if Theo does not give them a perfect pass.

Jermaine Defoe’s second goal was the perfect example of trust though. The easier pass would have been to slide Theo in on the right but instead Rooney chose the more difficult option in reversing to Defoe who ultimately scored the goal so I should really be laughed out of court but if the two players were on opposite sides then I bet that pass would have been played the way Rooney was facing. To his right.

Anyhow, Theo got 74 minutes under his belt before being replaced by Adam Johnson, who all of a sudden started receiving passes out on the right. Maybe I am seeing things that are not there, maybe I need to buy one of those white jackets with the funny sleeves, who knows.

The French are continuing to not do themselves any favours by losing at home to Belarus. That is not my concern, my concern is that Sagna, Clichy and Diaby all clocked up 90 minutes each. Stop that, get em off at half time.

Arshavin, Cesc and Vermaelen also played. Whilst we have Eboue, Chamakh and Vela playing today. Rosicky plays on Tuesday.

All I pray is that everyone comes back ready for the real stuff. The Arsenal!

Short and admittedly not all that sweet today, I have kids pulling at my ankles wanting to go to the park and play some football. It would be rude not to.

Back tomorrow.

UPDATE: I have just seen LadyArse’s headline on newsnow, maybe the white jackets can wait a little longer perhaps.
