“Get him out, Overpaid lazy-ass b*****ds” – Phew, it’s not just us then

At the final whistle I could have slapped each and every one of those players but on this Monday afternoon a sense of perspective has returned. The defeat has not been forgotten of course it hasn’t, it doesn’t go that easily but I still believe that we have more good than crap in our squad and my mind hasn’t changed from our last 90 minutes. I hope all the players are taking a long hard look at themselves and will do what it takes to be successful but right now all we can do is continue to support this group of players because that is part of the supporter

I am finding this all pretty difficult I must say this Monday afternoon. I usually enjoy reading through Twitter and several Arsenal sites, trying to find something interesting to read or even learn but at the moment, those places are dark, depressing and in some cases downright nasty.

But hey, we are football fans and that is all part and parcel of the game we love. Today Arsene and his players are the enemy, yet had Koscielny did what he should have done and kept his header down then we would be top of the league laughing at Chelsea losing back to back games. That is the difference between being a hero or a disgrace.

I was wondering how our rivals reacted to defeat, so I had a quick look around and it all sounded very familiar to be honest.

Here are a few comments from a Chelsea blog after Sunderland taught the West Londoners a footballing lesson.

Thinking 17 year olds can fill in for Ballack? what planet is Carlo on?

This defeat has been coming ever since Carlo thought that he could sell all those players and bring in kids to replace them.

Get him out.

Overpaid lazy-ass bastards. No passion whatsoever. I’m starting to think it was a backlash to sacking Wilkins, Lampard was conveniently injured right after that.

that will be two more defeats coming up then, never mind winning the league, qualifying for champions lge in 4th place more likely

Let us not forget that this was Chelsea’s first defeat at home since 1884 or something. I then had a browse around the Manchester United forums *yuck* when Everton grabbed a late two goals to draw the game.

Our own fault, as per usual, get a goal or 2 ahead, and we switch off.

Need to keep our foot on it and smash teams like chelsea do…hopefully this will teach us that lesson and we won’t fuck up like this again

Also, we seriously need to stop winning and then strolling around like we’re playing in a park.

What a fucking disgrace. Its call fucking defending you c*nts.

Sounds very familiar doesn’t it? So what is my point? I suppose my point is that the grass isn’t always as lush and green elsewhere and our own grass isn’t as dead as you may currently think it is.

There has been many of sack the manager articles doing the rounds and we should replace Wenger with x,y,z. All very well but what exactly happens if it doesn’t do exactly what it says on the tin? Let us not forget that it is Wenger who has rebuilt our squad and has taken the squad to this position. He didn’t come in yesterday and just mess up the previous managers plans.

But for arguments sake, the board call in Arsene into the board room, hand him his P45, pay off the rest of his contract and then appoint Mr Hiddink. Good choice right?

Let us not assume that Mr Hiddink will be given £200 million to spend on new shiny players, the CLUB will remain to be prudent with our cash. It always has. There is a myth that Wenger and only Wenger doesn’t want to spend money.

But forget about that for a second, lets just say he is working with the personnel he has at his disposal, what happens if those players do not like his methods or if he implements his own tactics that do not work with our players?

God forbid he comes in and we start to lose more games than we do at present, it is very realistic. We cannot guarantee that anyone would come in and do a better job than the manager we have had at our club for 14 years. The manager who knows all the players better than any other manager.

Anyhoo, I am doing my best to rid myself of this north London derby depression, so please let me get over this in peace.

I get the feeling that tomorrow will be the start of a run in the side for Robin Van Persie, he needs games now and with Chamakh in need of a rest, so it could be time to give Van Persie a red cape and an RVP badge on his chest and hope he can save our season from err not going top of the league.

You may want to mock me now but I agree that this is Wenger’s greatest squad in terms of depth of quality but I would love to have RVP, Cesc and eventually Vermaelen in top form and clear of injury from now until the end of the season.

Right, I am shaking myself out of this now (until the next time) I am going to come back tomorrow with only Braga on the mind.

Until then.. chin up Gooners.
