Jack’s mate Henri Lansbury was in the thick of the action last night as he came off the bench with 10 minutes to play and he scored a nice goal and was involved in the late third. With all due respect, judging by his tweets, he is a little bit of a cheese. But he certainly has character on the pitch and I love his commitment. He wants to win and looks as if he doesn’t know how to do anything but give
Good afternoon all,
And I do not mutter those words without any reason. Mad Jens is back at the club as a member of the playing staff for the last 10 games due to our need for emergency goalkeeper cover. His name was mentioned a few times last week followed by a little chuckle as if to suggest that it was a crazy idea that would never happen but he was apparently at the club doing his coaching badges or at least part of it and then the vacancy came available.
I very much doubt that we will get the chance to see him line up in goal, it would be beyond ridiculous if Almunia also joined the casualty list on top of our already crocked keepers but we are talking about Arsenal after all, the impossible is always possible with our club both in a positive and negative light.
But that is almost irrelevant, I think his signing could be just what we need for the dressing room. He was in the Arsenal squad the last time we won the league title. He was in the team, the last time we had a title run in and his experience right now could be key. Not his experience exactly but his words of advice, his motivation.
I would imagine that once Jens speaks then people listen, especially when most of our players are under 25 years of age. While we have the likes of Cesc and Robin who lead by example, the question remains whether we have the voices to inspire on and off the pitch. Obviously I do not know this, I am not in the dressing room as I am sure most the readers are not but judging by what we see on the pitch it is difficult to imagine Arshavin, Walcott, Eboue etc giving inspirational speeches before a game or at half time.
Clearly the side have character, you do not get to where we have without leadership or strong personalities but someone with Lehmann’s standing in the game and his trophies under his belt can give the squad the needed boost in these last few games.
Any talk of the Lehmann vs Almunia feud can be knocked on its head.
Lehmann said: “I’m looking forward to the role of back up and will support Almunia… We can still win the title.”
You can be sure that Arsene would have spoken to Jens about what previously happened between the two keepers as I am sure that was the reason why he was let go in the first place and not his early season errors as some people like to turn to, giving them the excuse to beat our keepers black and blue verbally.

I am looking forward to the many camera shots of Jens sitting on the bench with his big warm coat. I suggest we go and win the league early with some games remaining so we can bring Lehmann on in our last game at the Emirates so he can get the reception he deserves.
If he did get a game, he could well be playing behind a certain Johan Djourou. Remember that guy who we heard was out for the season? Well he apparently his injury is not as serious as first feared and could be back within a couple of weeks. Well this has come from the Swiss FA and it is difficult to know what is what with them.
This happened after the 4-4 draw at Newcastle. It looked like Djourou was finished until the Swiss FA informed us that Djourou was not badly hurt and would return in no time. They were proved to be correct and Djourou was back in the next game.
I reckon Johan is in fact a cyborg who was created in the summer. The old Djourou was put to sleep by the Arsenal medical team and then he was recreated with bits of robotic parts now he is Johan invincible.
Poor jokes aside, this would be fantastic news. Not the cyborg part but his return. His presence this season has been vital and we need him, especially at places like Stoke and Bolton away in the run in.
It is amazing to think that he grew up as a midfielder. Well it is not so hard to understand that when you see him shifting the ball away from the forward then stride into midfield from the back but his aggression at winning the ball in the air is not common for a converted midfield player. You could see that Kolo Toure was not a natural defender in that respect but Djourou has it in spades.
He was quite possibly fourth choice at the start of the season, especially with his injury the previous season but hats off to the guy for pulling out display after display of top quality.
I would go as far as to say that if he hadn’t had the previous injury then he would not have been rotated as much at the start of the season, especially in the games he played very well and we could have wrapped up this Premier League thingy that we are after.
Fabio Capello has been doing his bit as an experienced manager, taking the pressure of his young players by stating that Jack Wilshere is the best young midfielder that he has ever seen at his age. He also thinks that he will be captain one day. Thanks for that Fabio. Not that he has enough pressure on his shoulders already.
But as we are already on the subject and the hype is in overdrive then, yes. I agree with that. He is ridiculously good. His feet, range of passing, calmness on the ball and his hunger make him an outstanding talent already.
It is quite scary to think that we may have hardly seen him if Ramsey was available for pre season. Would we be waxing lyrical about Aaron instead? Would we be further ahead? Or further behind?
It is crazy to think about how little differences can change a whole club. One bad pass at a certain time could lead to you winning a game but one inch perfect cross field pass could see you losing.
I was about to go all deep on you and compare it to life but I don’t think I can handle that. I may end up in a straight jacket and then rename this blog Insanity Vision. I wonder if I would get more hits. Probably.

With Ramsey, Song, Cesc and Wilshere all fighting for midfield spots, it will be difficult for him but hopefully he can stay next season and fight for his chance.
There is some tosh about Bendtner being wanted by Blackburn. *Yawn* wake me up when it is the summer. Actually I think I’ll keep my eyes open for the run in but please do not talk to me about transfers until the season is done and deals can or more likely cannot be done.
Back tomorrow.
