Arsenal’s improving form has coincided with the improving form of Spaniard Mikel Arteta and a few others in the Arsenal team including young Gooner Carl Jenkinson. The right back had some complimentary things to say about the accomplished midfielder.

Jenkinson said:

‘He is going from strength to strength if you ask me, he was exceptional today, he has that experience and he’s got that class about him as well. He will always keep the ball, when you think he’s in a tricky situation he’s got great feet and he will always get out of that situation.

He’s a model professional and he is someone I look up to. He has been around the game for a long time so I can learn a lot off him and he has done really, really well.’

Arteta stroked home Arsenal’s third to seal the game against West Brom and Jenkinson had the perfect view to have his say on the strike.

Jenkinson continued:

‘Talking of his goal, I was right behind it, it was a great finish, right into the bottom corner’
