Arsene Wenger has been given a big juicy phat transfer fund to not spend on expensive players. Who knows, he may be looking at targets in January

This morning is all about the financial state of the club at the moment. This is something that we have known about for a little while though.

Arsene Wenger has been given a big juicy phat transfer fund to not spend on expensive players. (70 Million apparently) Who knows, he may be looking at targets in January. Our squad is looking pretty good right now and we are sitting top of the league. I still think we are lacking a winger. Diaby is currently our 3rd choice wide player and that is not right in my book.

It has been a good weekend for Arsenal fans with our 5-0 win against Derby County played in pretty much 1st gear. I don’t think that I have ever seen us beat a top flight side so easily. We were really just jogging around passing the ball around at a pretty slow tempo and still had enough to beat them by 5. We could have got 10 goals if we went for it from the off.

Adebayor has been speaking about our form

“I don’t want people to think that we will win the title or the Champions League. I just want them to respect us for what we are doing at the moment.

“I think they [are altering their attitudes]. Recently I read the newspapers and people are changing a little bit. In the summer it was very difficult. We just want to prove to people that they are wrong so at the moment we just will keep our focus and do our job.”

I agree with him, we need to take this one game at a time and not try and think about the end of the season, there is a long way to go. But yes, things are going very well at the moment. Its just a shame that we are not playing the big sides now like Chelsea because now would be a great time to play them, beat them and get them out of the way.

Boy Man of the moment, Cesc Fabregas has been talking about how it was playing in the same side as Thierry Henry.

“Henry intimidated us. He is a great player but it was not easy to play alongside him.

“We were a bit inhibited – dependent on everything that he wanted to do.

“Everyone was saying that this year without Henry we would be nowhere. That has motivated everyone.”

I love the following quotes..

Asked if he could see himself at Arsenal in a decade, the Spaniard said: “Right now, yes.

“I love everything about English football. The pace of the game, the attacking style. I feel like a kid playing in the street.”

So Newcastle in the Carling cup are next without super biscuit boy Michael Owen. It will be a difficult task because Arsene will ring in the changes and Newcastle are a decent side. I am hoping that some of the injured players are coming back and need football for fitness. I am not sure how Eboue is doing but perhaps he could feature if he is over his ankle knock. Maybe our team will look something like this..

Fabianski
Hoyte Nordtveit Song Traore
Eboue Denilson Diarra Walcott
Eduardo Bendtner

Sorry for the lack of entry yesterday, this was down to a mixture of going to bed at 6 in the morning, kebab and chips and many many vodka and cokes. My body wasn’t a huge fan of the combination and i was punished for the whole of Sunday.

Until tomorrow
