The talent in our squad is huge even though we lost some key players in the summer. The likes of Ramsey and Song have stepped up a notch, RVP continued where he left off from last season. We have Theo who is a lot more confident in his abilities and who will add a couple of more goals to his

We are days away before we see the return of our dearly beloved Arsenal. A 2 weeks break isn’t exactly what the doctor ordered but still we have to adapt to the rules of the almighty FIFA.
We get back to the swing of things against a Norwich side that drew with Liverpool at Anfield and lost narrowly to Man UTD at Old Trafford.
3points on Saturday against Norwich on a day where Chelsea hosts Liverpool and Newcastle/City dig it out can push us closer to 3rd place. I don’t know if I am going too far but like they say ” a man can only dream”…. And this time I wanna dream BIG!!!
We go into the game at the back of 4 straight wins. Confidence should be high but at the same time we should guide against complacency. In the past few years I’ve seen complacency bring us straight back to earth.
One thing we have going for us this season is we are much more united, we don’t have a lot of prima donnas in our ranks and above all we are much more experienced. The likes of Sagna, Santos, Vermaelen, Mertesacker, Arteta and RVP can put the up and coming boys right on track and make them not lose focus.
The talent in our squad is huge even though we lost some key players in the summer. The likes of Ramsey and Song have stepped up a notch, RVP continued where he left off from last season. We have Theo who is a lot more confident in his abilities and who will add a couple of more goals to his repertoire.
Our defence is a lot more stronger with the return of Vermaelen and the new arrival of our German Machine coupled with the fact that we are seeing a much more assured Koscielny. We also have Djourou who on his day can be a torn in the flesh to an opposing player. Then there is a Squillaci, Ssssssshhhhh….. I know what you are about to say but I don’t buy the idea that he is a waste + he is our 5th choice and for the faint hearted, we’ll only get to see him play if we have a major injury crisis at the back which I’m positive won’t happen.
Gervinho has been a breath of fresh air and he is a lot more different from what that money grabber who sits on the bench at The €tihad Stadium used to give us here at The Emirates. Gervinho is more direct, can stretch play, can beat his marker in tight situations, can score goals and also provide goal scoring opportunities for his peers. Gervinho has made 8 appearances in the league, scored 2 goals and set up 5 goals. A good return for someone who just joined in the summer amidst the suppose ‘chaos’ we were in at the start of the season
Wenger has gone about with business this season in the right way and he hasn’t been carried away with our recent good form…. He insists that there is still room for improvement, he also had this to say to the media;
“I would say we are a bit more controlled and less cavalier. We are less adventurous when the job is done. You can feel that there is some reserve there if needed.
In the second half against West Brom we just kept it serious without going overboard. Overall I would say it is a more mature attitude.
“We were more functional. We did the job properly, with quality and, I must say, with seriousness.”
I actually like the fact that we are ‘less cavalier’ and much more direct, we have got a bunch of players who no longer dwell on the ball and give the opposition time to regroup instead we use the pace of Gervinho and Theo to cut deep and the passing range of Arteta to create openings and the drive and incisive passes of Ramsey to wreck havoc.
Ramsey isn’t there yet but his assist for Gervinho’ s goal against Stoke , the through pass to Gervinho against Chelsea who in turn set up RVP for our 1st goal and another through pass for Theo which opened up West Brom’s defence that led to RVP’s goal only bodes well for us and the team. Ramsey is reaching that level he was getting to before he got his leg broken by Mr. Nice Guy.
Our midfield is clicking at the right time and the partnership being formed looks to be lethal and doesn’t shy away when it needs to get dirty. It is very balanced at the moment and the Arteta and Song combo is working quite perfectly. One sits and the other helps Ramsey to push forward and add numbers to our attack. We also have a Rosicky and Benayoun who have pulled their weight when called upon.
We look in good shape and we can dream good…. Forget what happened in the summer and look to the future because the future is red and white!!!
Norwich had better come fast, I need my Arsenal back in the running…. I don’t care about the nerves because the nerves are there to stay for as long as I support Arsenal.
Until Next Time…… Stay Blessed!!!
