Good Morning, Little bits and pieces of news this morning, nothing major really. Arsene Wenger has been praising Mathieu Flamini to the media and rightly so. He is one player who has made me change my judgement and opinion.
“Mathieu realised he was maybe at a place where he will get a chance if he is doing well,” said Wenger.
“He is growing – he has a little bossy attitude in midfield you know and he is an organiser, a fighter and a winner.
“He has improved in football terms; his vision is better, his presence is better and overall at the moment he is doing very well.
I have always admired his workrate, attitude and energy. But technically he stood out in the past and not in a positive way. He gave the ball away alot and wasn’t really disciplined tactically compared to Gilberto but this season he has been out of this world. What I have also noticed is his improvement on the ball, his passing, his control has all stepped up.
When you consider that central midfield is our strongest position in the squad and he is clearly first choice then you know he is doing well. I expect him to start tomorrow as most of the first team were rested for the Carling cup match.
Alex Hleb is definitely out for the Champions league clash as his leg is bruised from the knee to the toes according to Arsene. But Adebayor should be fit after a calf knock. Match Preview coming later.
According to reports in the Sunday papers, Us and Liverpool are locked in a battle to the death to sign ‘new Zidane’ Samir Nasri from Marseille. It is far to early to talk about transfer speculation anyway.
Clichy who has been in super form since the start of the season has outlined the confidence within the squad at present.
“After the start we’ve made you can get this feeling. The atmosphere is great and we have the quality to do really well,” Clichy revealed.
“I don’t know if we’re going to be unbeatable but I’m sure we’re going to be up there at the end of the season. If not to be unbeatable at least we want to go as close as possible to first place.
“Nobody gave us any chance at the start of the summer but now everyone has now changed their opinion about Arsenal, which is fair enough. For the last couple of years it has been difficult for us, we did not win anything.
“Now we have what was missing in the last two years, the spirit and the desire to fight for each other.

This month will tell us alot about what we can do this season. Hopefully 6 points against Sunderland and Bolton then if we can come away from Anfield without a defeat we have Manchester United at home and it would be a good chance to show the Premier League we mean business.
