Swansea (h) Thoughts from Arsene (fictional)

There has been a lot of talk in the medias about transfers and rumour. Don’t worry, if we find top top quality then we will bring him in. Well assuming a) Chelsea, Manchester City and PSG are not bugging our scouts mobile phones again or b) they are not asking for more than our top earners and c) they fit into our style of play. I also don’t want to kill any of my younger talents like Gnabry, Eisfeld and others who have the talent. That said, I wished I had killed Robin. Oh for legal reasons you might want to remove that bit

Due to all the negativities in the medias, Mean Lean from Arsenal Vision has very kindly allowed me to speak to the loyal Arsenal supporters on his blog. We were indeed disappointed to not go through in the first game at Swansea. We were serious and gave a good second half. We were a little bit nervous in the first 45 minutes but Swansea is a good team with good technical qualities. I think you all saw that at Chelsea where they beat them comf-ort-tably. We maybe lost a bit focus after Kieran Gibbs goal and rather than keep going forward we dropped off a little, overall we were the better team on the day but couldn’t complete the job.

Tonight we have a good chance to show our qualities and I believe you will see a good performance from our players tonight. While the City result was disappointing you have to keep a little bit distance with the result. I haven’t seen the replay of the sending off, I will look at it but I am convinced that if we stayed 11 against 11 then we would have beaten City roughly 7-0 but we live in a world where that cannot be proved so there.

What I would like to say is that at the top top level you need a referee that doesn’t strut around like a peacock wanting to be the star of the show. Is Mr Dean is a little bit enormous pri*k? Maybe, yes.

Tonight I want to put a strong team on the pitch that can win the match. I cannot give you my team but I will rotate a little bit but let us not have any speculation of any weakness in the Swansea team. We played four days ago and the players have been working very hard in training, they have shown a desire and positive attitude this week and I am convinced that we will see a big performance from our players. You are more than welcome to have a guess at the team.

Mean Lean’s Predicted Line Up:

You will have to watch the match to see what I will actually do. We have a few injuries and I also do not want to play Diaby too much in such a short space of time so I will see how he reacts today before making a final decision.

We are the clear favorites to win the game, in fact according to https://sports.bwin.com/en/sports/4/betting/football Swansea are a very generous 6.25 to repeat their recent Emirates victory only a few weeks ago. I would say that a draw in 90 minutes at 4.25 represents the best value.

I have been trying to be subtle about this for about one months now but seeing as I am now amongst friends I will be a little bit less cautious. I have been saying that our players have been playing with the handbrake or that the players were a little bit nervous

What I am trying to say overall is that if you want the team to do well then save the jeering and tutting for the opposition, I believe that we have an outstanding potential but the tension at the Emirates is too great. I would love to hear a positive attitude from the fans like many a great night at the Emirates where we produced a top top top top top (I love saying that) quality performance in response.

We want to win the FA cup, it is a chance for a trophy and we want to take it. We miss Mikel Arteta of course but we have Abou Diaby back from injury and Lukas Fabianski is soon back so they are like new signings. *whispers in the background* what? why shouldn’t I say that? Anyway I am talking to the fans shhhhh.

We are working very hard to bring players in and of course like Podolski, Rosicky, Koscielny and many more I would have liked to have brought them in early in the window but it is not just down to us. Selling clubs need to buy their own replacements, agents like talking to other clubs and plenty of other factors. But I have a plan. Keep pretending to T’eo that he is a striker until errr he signs da ting then I can finally put him back out wide and then announce the super quality signings to go with Diaby and Fabianski.

I look forward to hearing you singing tonight at the Emirates or in your living rooms or maybe err down the pub. Don’t show any limitations on your cheering for the team and hopefully we can go through to the next round.

Love kisses and cuddles,

Arsene x
