That is exactly what football is about, that is why even when your team goes through a bad patch, you keep coming back. Words were not enough to describe what we witnessed last night at times.

Theo Walcott started off quietly and wasn’t really involved but he was gifted an excellent chance to grab his first Champions League goal and he took it well. You could see the confidence growing inside of the boy (lets now forget he is just a boy) and the way he took his second goal was just wonderful. When you watch the replay of that goal you can see how calm he is even running at full pace, he looked up at the keeper more than twice and slid it past him in off the post, it was more Michael Owen than Thierry Henry.

Has Van Persie’s injury opened the door for Theo? Have Eduardo and Walcott exchanged pecking order positions? Will Theo start at Anfield? What happens when Robin is fully fit and Theo is still scoring goals? Plenty of questions that Arsene will answer over the next couple weeks.

I have mentioned it many times now but Alex Hleb is a better player on the left wing, he was outstanding last night. Head and shoulders above everyone else. After that kind of performance you have to fit in Rosicky around him and not the other way around. Hleb has to start on the left from now on and Rosicky will have to adapt on the right in my opinion.

Anyway, you can read Squid Boys’s report of the match HERE

I was hoping that Cesc would have been replaced in the last 20 minutes for Diarra to save Cesc for Anfield and give Lassana some playing time. But it was not to be.

Did you see Arsene’s reaction when the after match reporter asked if Jens Lehmann has a future at the club? Arsene paused smiled and said ‘Of Course’ I have never seen Arsene look so transparent. Lehmann is off in January, no doubt about it. We do not need players with his attitude at the club. It is a shame as Jens was/is a fantastic goalkeeper on his day and he always gave us entertainment with his mad behaviour but its time to move him on now.

That was the perfect performance and scoring line to head to Anfield. Liverpool are playing a day later than us and they are away in Turkey (I think) so they will be more tired and will have less preparation time. I have never been more confident prior to a Liverpool vs Arsenal match. If we can continue our football then we will outpass them. Imagine what 6 points against the Scousers and Mancs will do for the teams self belief?

Right I am off to buy every single newspaper and read all the reports!
