Wilshere – Arsenal still in title race

Jack Wilshere has insisted Arsenal are still in the title race despite a 1-0 defeat to Stoke leaving the Gunners four points behind leaders Chelsea at the top of the Premier League. With games against Chelsea and Manchester City still left to come between now and the end of the season, Arsenal are still very much in the title race despite many, including some Betfair fans, writing Arsene Wenger’s side off.

A toothless day from the Gunners was rounded off by a 76th minute penalty from Jon Walters to hand Stoke a 1-0 victory against the North London side at the Britannia Stadium. Despite dominating much of the possession throughout the game, Arsenal failed to ever really test Potters keeper Asmir Begovic in the Stoke goal despite being the Betfair favourites heading into the match.

Wilshere admits having games against their title rivals this month means the club are still in a strong position in this title race and well worth a bet with Betfair.com.

“The good thing is, this month, we play Chelsea We play all the teams at the top so that’s a good thing and if we win those games, we’re going to be up there,” said Wilshere after the Stoke defeat.

“We have to keep going until the end. Anything can happen as you’ve seen today and in previous weeks.”
