Hull City (a) Thoughts & Line Up: Rambo, Ox & Özil could add much needed youthful creativity

Nacho Monreal is back available for selection but I wonder if Thomas Vermaelen will continue at left back following his good performance against West Ham. He might be the ying to Lukas Podolski’s yang. Vermaelen is not a natural box to box full back instead preferring to play closer to his centre back. Maybe this allows Podolski to luxury of playing in his favourite little pocket of space to the left of the penalty spot, wondering around until a ball falls his way for him to spank into the corner. The system make require tweaking but maybe that is the best way to get the best out of Lukas Podolski from now until the season end.

I am writing this on Saturday night so I find myself grinning and chuckling to myself. Haha! Specialist in mental breakdown eh?
Imagine only having Eden Hazard as your injury worry, having the second most expensive squad in the league and then losing at home to Sunderland when a win would keep you in the title race? I feel no shame in laughing at Chelsea’s misfortune and if you feel the need to use Arsenal as a means of defending Mourinho and Chelsea then might I advise you to take yourself off to a quiet corner and have a word with yourself or better still check out football betting previews on completebetting.com
This my friends is the way of the internet defending a rival whilst sticking the boot into your own team is seen as normal behaviour.
Anyway, I am going way off topic here. Arsenal travel to Hull City to play the FA cup finalists in what is known as the non dress rehearsal because well the game will have nothing to do with the cup game. Hull City have little to play for so the pressure is off them. Arsenal however have what could be seen as our most difficult league game left of the season.
With Everton dropping important points at home to Crystal Palace in midweek it could be a real chance to take control of this race for the last CL spot. We will be looking for the win but going to Hull hasn’t always been an easy task for many of the top sides this season but only a win will do today anything else and the momentum swings back towards Everton.
The good news is that our squad has been reinforced by returning quality. For starters Mesut Özil is back for the first time in six weeks and I’d imagine he will start on the bench. It will be great to have him back, as the team have missed his creativity.
I would imagine that Arsène will rest a few of his older legs following the extra time against Wigan last weekend and then another 90 minutes in midweek against the Hammers.
While Mikel Arteta looked surprisingly fresh on Tuesday I think it makes a lot of sense to select the returning Mathieu Flamini from suspension in his position alongside the refreshed Aaron Ramsey at the base of the midfield. Özil is back in the squad but more than likely will start on the bench so either Oxlade-Chamberlain or Tomas Rosicky will start. I am guessing it will be the former if he is over his injury issue.

Mean Lean’s Predicted Line Up:

I don’t know about you but I like the look of that team. A nice balance of creativity, goals and pace.
Speaking of goals, I have to go against the current fashion of hating on Giroud and hope he gets on the score sheet today. His goal against West Ham was top draw as they say and it would be great if he re-found some belief before the end of the season. With Ramsey and Özil back maybe he will have players closer to him once more and that could make all the difference.
Fingers crossed for an improved performance, no reason why not and even more importantly much needed three points under our belts. If Manchester United can take anything from Goodison then, well I’ll take that.
Check back later for some more Q&A action from some more Gooners on Twitter and my thoughts will more than likely be up tomorrow.
