Imagine watching Clichy run 5 yards up the pitch in his own half and whacking it long to Adebayor in the air everytime
And you wonder why Arsene does not buy English players?
I could not believe what I was seeing last night. Every time an England player was in possession of the ball they would hit it long first time towards Crouch in the air, Crouch would win the ball and give it straight back to the classy Croats who passed the ball and looked deadly on the counter attack.
Football should not be played like that at International level in 2007. It was absolutely disgusting to watch. The simple fact of the matter is that England were not good enough to qualify for Euro 2008.
Thank you Arsene for bringing us proper football.
Imagine watching Clichy run 5 yards up the pitch in his own half and whacking it long to Adebayor in the air everytime. We would not be a quarter of the side we currently are.
Eduardo had a pretty quiet match overall, he did manage to play a sublime through ball for the second goal though, a very Arsenal like pass. I am still unsure if he is ready for the Arsenal first team yet, January is almost here. Arsene will have seen alot more than we have in training and only he will know if Eddie is ready to bang in goals for Arsenal. I wonder if Arsene has thought about accommodating all three (Adebayor, Van Persie and Eduardo) in the same time when everyone is fit and sharp. I don’t know how that will happen but I don’t see how any of those can be left out as they all bring something very important to a team.
Gael Clichy has been talking about the proposed restrictions on foreign players.
“The nationality is not the main thing, it is just the quality with which you want your team to play,” said Clichy, speaking to Arsenal TV Online.
“The boss [Arsène Wenger] has made something great here, the way we like to entertain people, and I am sure that it doesn’t matter for him.
“If you have to see about a player if they are English, French or Spanish, if he has the quality he will be in his team, and if not he won’t be in his team. Let the manager do the job.
Based on last nights performance if the foreign capping did happen then the premier league would take a massive drop in class and quality.
Inform playmaker Alex Hleb picked up an injury for Belarus in the 2-1 victory over Holland last night. He was replaced at half time. I have looked high and low to find out what type of injury it is but I cannot find any news on it at present. If you do know then please leave a comment.
If Hleb misses the match on Saturday then it is pretty likely that we will revert back to 4-4-2. Unless he decides to play Rosicky behind Adebayor with Walcott and Eboue as our wide players. Our football isn’t going to be the same without Cesc and Hleb who are the brains of the team, the ideas. Alot will fall on the shoulders of Tomas Rosicky now. He has his chance to shine.
Nicklas Bendtner scored yet again for Denmark in a 3-0 victory against Iceland. It is unlikely that we will see Bendtner alongside Adebayor. I think Arsene views the Dane as a replacement for the Togo hitman.
Well that is roughly the size of it for now, I am looking forward to watching some proper passing football on the weekend. Enjoy the day ahead.
