Arsene responds to criticism ‘honestly’

“Arsène, thanks for the memories but it’s time to say goodbye” was the message displayed across the away end at the Hawthorns by some gripping Arsenal fans on Saturday afternoon after the win over West Brom.

The disgruntled message comes from the growing unhappiness with Wenger’s managerial skills this season from both fans and club share-holders. According to some of the UK’s leading bookmakers, the odds on Arsenal winning the Premiership are now at 50/1 (odds taken from Betfair and promotions may apply). An all time low for the club due to a disastrous start to the season accumulating their lowest point count after 12 games in 32 years.

Wenger has been with the club since 1996 but after failing to deliver the Premier League title in almost a decade now, many fans feel his time at the club must come to an end if the club wants to be considered as real title race contender.

Recently Dortmund’s Jurgen Klopp has been linked with a move to the gunners which both sides have ruled out. Wenger seems to be unaffected by the rumors and fans comments and instead ‘insists his 24/7 approach to managing Arsenal will deliver results.’

Wenger stated: “I don’t mind. I do what I love and I think I do it with honesty and total commitment. I invite you to live with me and see in seven days what kind of work we produce and you will see it’s with total commitment.

“I think we have shown extreme consistency and that’s all you can do. We’ve had ups and downs in the league, that’s true, but you only come back again when the spirit is strong and united inside the club.

“If we have shown consistency it’s because we have that, we have values and respect them.”

Wenger’s first reaction to the banner was to refuse to comment on the disgruntled fans however after some time the manager proposed his critics to reflect on what he had achieved at the club.

“I started to manage a team at the top level in 1983. If I am completely useless tactically then I am a genius. I can hide it very well”

The banner was reveled after the club’s second victory of the weeks, which saw them back in the top 6 in the Premier League and qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League.

Funnily enough, West Brom’s Alain Irvine also received his share of abuse from bitter supports with the chant of “you don’t know what you’re doing” filling the stadium over his second half substitutions.
