When he saved Keane’s penalty I jumped and shouted in pure relief which scared the living day life out of him.
I must admit I didn’t expect that sort of game. Tottenham were missing alot of players, especially defenders. We were back to full strength minus Van Persie. Walk in the park, surely?
The complete opposite infact. We were not at our best at all but credit to Tottenham (did I really just say that?) they took the game to us and played some good football at times.
It seems quite apparent that Cesc, Hleb and Flamini who have all returned from injury are missing some sharpness and it showed in our performance. Our passing was off and it was too slow. The invention from our creators (Cesc, Hleb and Rosicky) was not there and we could not get into our stride.
I have to credit Gael Clichy who hasn’t been mentioned much had Aaron Lennon tucked away firmly inside his pocket and the winger had limited success against him. Clichy’s pace and recovery is fantastic.
Our first goal was superb though, and even when we are not on our best we can still produce wonderful moments like that. Rosicky’s reverse pass to Cesc on the run was inch perfect, not an easy pass to make but the Czech did made it. Cesc’s awareness was what we come to expect from the young Spaniard and Adebayor kept his head which was nice to see. Adebayor’s run continues against the scum.
Manuel Almunia made my son cry. When he saved Keane’s penalty I jumped and shouted in pure relief which scared the living day life out of him. He screamed his head off. I almost exploded when Bendtner scored that header because I tried my hardest to keep the noise inside me.
I had a feeling that Bendtner would be a player that could cause Tottenham problems. Infact on the 20th December I was talking about the Carling cup semi final and said..
our Dane Bendtner will be up for this one. I have a feeling that Bendtner will be the thorn in the Spurs side over the two games. I think he will score in both games.
We will see if it continues into the Carling cup, lets hope so.
Speaking of which, I am a tad less confident about the semi final now, especially on that display. We will need to be at our best to beat them especially at Shite hart lane.
Anyway, isn’t it lovely to be top of the league at Christmas? You know what the stats say about that, but I cannot take that seriously this time round as we will only be a point ahead if Manchester United beat Everton today (COME ON EVERTON!!!)
It is always good to beat Tottenham no matter how the games went. Basically, we were not at our best and they were at their best and we still won!
I off to do some well good fun last minute Christmas shopping in stupidly packed well fun shops… not!
Until tomorrow.
