Pre Hammers / Transfer Window / Fran’s off

The January transfer window opens tomorrow but I do not expect anything exciting to be happening at our club,

I have awoken this morning feeling utter utter pooh, feel like I have razor blades stuck down my throat as well as a stinking cold so this will be brief.

Someone is up to their old tricks once again I see. Alex Ferguson has brought out his pink book of mind games from under his pillow.

“I always feel if you reach New Year on top you have a massive chance. We still have a great chance but obviously it was disappointing to lose the way we did.

There is not enough of a gap to talk about advantages and massive chances etc. All it takes is one team to slip up and the other to win just as it happened on Saturday.

West Ham beat us home and away last season are next up and they have improved this season and were the better team against Manchester United but I have a feeling that we will score a few goals against them and regain our form. I assume that Adebayor and Rosicky will be reinstated to the starting line up and perhaps Eduardo will continue in attack as he should be full of confidence. Four goals in his last two starts. All clinical finishes.

The January transfer window opens tomorrow but I do not expect anything exciting to be happening at our club, well at least coming into the club. Its pretty likely that Jens Lehmann will be heading out. Gilberto has not been in the squad for the last two matches and he doesn’t seem to be injured. What does that tell you? I think we could well see ol’bert leave the club as well. I just hope that Diarra stays put and has an attitude transplant.
Maybe our recent trailsts Mputu and Dimitrov could be the only ‘in’s’ of January.

One player who will be making a move is Fran Merida, but it will only be on loan. The young Spaniard is set to join Real Sociedad on loan until the end of the season to get some much needed first team experience.

It seems that it will not be a permanent switch.

“This is definitely just a temporary switch as Arsene Wenger thinks very highly of Fran,” a club source told The Sun.

“It was decided that it was the best thing to help the kid’s development for him to go on loan for six months.

“But Fran will be coming back at the end of the season and he’s confident he will stake a claim for a first-team place next season.”

It will be good for the lad as he has alot of competition in his way in the first team. I have not seen very much of the lad apart from the odd Carling Cup sub appearance and YouTube clips

West Ham Preview up later, enjoy your day *sniff, cough, cough*
