Another 1st gear victory for the lads yesterday. It may not have been our greatest peformance but we played good football in patches. Eduardo once again showed his finishing power with another splendid strike. Eduardo is the only player at the club who would have taken his goal like that. Adebayor and Van Persie would have brought it down and attempted to beat the defender, Hleb would have beaten the defender then passed it to someone else. Like Squid boy said in the Match Review I think Eduardo can easily be carried until he adapts to English football. I am looking forward to our team playing the way they did against the likes of Slavia Prague at home and the first half against Aston Villa with Eduardo in the side.

I suppose we still have Gallas, Djourou, Senderos, Gilberto, Hoyte and even Sagna can play in the center of defence so it should be enough for us to get by until late feb.
William Gallas has been speaking about Toure’s upcoming departure.
“Kolo is very important for the squad because he is very strong,” said the captain. “He has good qualities and my relationship with him has been good.
“We have good players in the squad and someone else will be able to play. If you play for Arsenal you are very good and I hope my relationship with them will be good too. We will miss Kolo but I can only say how much after a few weeks.”
Fingers crossed that Gallas more than most can stay fit. If he gets injured then we will suffer. Luckily our fixtures during this period isn’t too bad.
Matthew Connolly has left us to play first team football at QPR, he signs a three and half year contract. It is sad because alot of people had high hopes for him
Connolly said :”Arsenal provided me with a great launch pad, but I need to be playing first-team football at my age and this is a fantastic club for me to pursue my career at.”
There is alot of quality infront of these young players and we can only play a certain number of players. He could end up being a fantastic player as Bentley has become but it will take time for him to reach the levels of our current first team.
Lets all watch this January window and who knows, we may see a little surprise or two happen before the window closes.
