Spurs / Lehmann / Theo

I am intrigued to know if Theo Walcott will start on the wing or upfront. We are going to have to play alot better than in the first leg if we are to get through

So we face the mighty scum tonight at Shite Hart Lane. After the first game I thought that we were going to lose this one but now my heart is telling me a different story. Some of our first team players are being drafted into the line up today due to being short on squad numbers. Senderos is the next defender out injured so its fair to say that William Gallas will start the game alongside Gilerto or Justin Hoyte.

I am intrigued to know if Theo Walcott will start on the wing or upfront. We are going to have to play alot better than in the first leg if we are to get through.

Spurs will be playing like it is a cup final and will be desperate to beat us and we will have to match that. Gilberto will have to protect the back four better than he did in the first leg. Denilson will have to be more creative in his passing and Bendtner will have to get himself involved from the start.

Jens Lehmann has hinted that he could retire from football.

“It troubles me greatly I’m not getting games, but that is the only thing I disagree about with Arsene Wenger,” said Lehmann.

“There is a 50 per cent chance I could retire soon. It depends what offers I receive.

“If the same criteria were applied to Almunia as they are to me, I would have been back in the team a long time ago.

“But I am optimistic, and I go into every training session feeling I will soon be back playing.”

I actually feel confident with Almunia in goal now, it is has taken me a little while but it is getting better. Almunia has not made a mistake in a while now and he has made some very good saves along the way.

It is a sad way for Jens to finish his relationship with the club but I still feel that alot of this is his own fault for his bad attitude towards Manuel Almunia.

Arsene Wenger has been saying some rather positive things about reserve fullback Justin Hoyte.

I have big respect for Justin because he is a player who does not talk too much but every time I play him he is quality,” said Wenger.

“He has improved tremendously. Technically he is very good but as well he is very versatile and quick on the turn which is a great quality for a centre back. He is good in the air even if he is small and I refuse categorically to give him out [on loan].

“He can play in the centre and when I did that against Tottenham in the first leg he did very, very well.”

I think the fact that he can play across the whole back four is the reason why Arsene still wants him at the club. I don’t personally think that he is good enough to be a first choice regular but he is a good lad and fills in for others.

Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Eboue kicked off their countries African Cup of Nations match with a win against Nigeria. I am happy for them but I would rather they didn’t qualify so they can come back. Ok, how about a deal? Keep Eboue but give us back Toure. Fair?

I wanted to give a prediction for this game but I cannot get the right feeling, my head and heart are having a fight so I will not give one. But Ideally I would like us to batter them silly with Walcott scoring a hat trick and Bendtner playing like Bergkamp behind him.

COME ON YOU REDSSSS!!!
