Adebayor and Eduardo were the main differences in the second half and we ended up comfortable winners

Yesterdays result was just what everybody needed after the Carling cup semi final against those underachieving mugs down the road. I just wish it was the league result that came first. I was actually pretty impressed by Newcastle in the first half. You could instantly see the difference in the style of play from Newcastle. They matched our passing in the first half and got themselves into good areas especially Duff. Smith had an effort cleared off the line from Mr interceptor Gael Clichy. It is astonishing how many times he nips infront of opposition players and nicks the ball and starts attacks.

What exactly is going on with Tomas Rosicky? He came off after about 10 minutes looking fairly upset but he didn’t look injured to me. I haven’t read any news about his departure.

Eduardo came on for the Czech international which meant that Theo Walcott had to pull out to the right wing. I felt sorry for the lad, who wants to prove himself as a striker.

Something else I noticed during the game was the difference in Abou Diaby in the second half. Although he wasn’t a major influence during the game what he did do was keep everything very simple. He played first time passes and was a much more effective player. I can only assume that Arsene had something to do with that. Diaby in the first half took at least 3 touches of the ball before he made a pass and it slowed our game down or he lost the ball. If he is to progress at Arsenal then he needs to take more of a second half approach to his game.

Fingers crossed for the league match. Sagna, Eduardo and Hleb will all start the game if fit and it may not be as easy in the end.
