Adebayor now plays more through the middle

Eduardo’s goal was wonderful, it was the reaction of a natural goal machine. No panic he knew exactly what he wanted to do and he did it

So another impressive victory and performance against Manchester City who have only beaten us once in the Premier League. Adebayor is growing from strength to strength. He was simply superb once again against two very good central defenders. He is looking almost unplayable right now, AC Milan better watch out because they will not know how to deal with him.

The game played out pretty much as I thought in the first half. My prediction worked out pretty well. As I thought, Manchester City sat back and didn’t close us down quick enough which allowed the midfield players to get on the ball and dictate the possession.

The title of yesterdays post was Sagna vs Petrov will be key and it was those two players who played a massive part in the first goal. Petrov lost the ball as he did on many occasions yesterday and practically walked back towards his own goal. This is why he will not be signed by a major club. It was pretty disgraceful really and I would be furious to see any Arsenal player lose the ball and react like that no matter how talented they claim to think they are. Sagna’s play after that was fantastic. He pushed it past Ball (I think) and ran around them with strength, pace and purpose he had little time to find a player as the line was getting closer but he managed to get his head up and see Adebayor standing in the right place at the right time his shot hit off Richards and squirmed into the back of the net. That shot would not have found its way in last season but when you are on fire everything goes in.

Eduardo’s goal was wonderful, it was the reaction of a natural goal machine. No panic he knew exactly what he wanted to do and he did it. I think Adebayor’s form is stopping Eduardo chances of scoring more goals. Adebayor now plays more through the middle. I think that was since the 1-1 draw with Birmingham (How we could have done with three points that day) since then he has score 2 against Fulham, 1 against the Scum, 2 more against Newcastle in the cup, followed by another header in the league against them, followed by another brace yesterday. He looks to be playing more in the penalty box with Eduardo floating around behind him. He does drift out to the left but not nearly as much as before the Fulham match.

In the second half Arsene made some tactical changes to make sure we didn’t concede the second goal. Eduardo went out to the left with Diaby making up the third central midfield player in more of a 4-5-1 formation. Ade’s second goal was a credit to him, he started the move was fouled, sprang back up on his feet and got into the position to score the deciding goal.

We cannot be too hard on Clichy as we play football all over the pitch and that is what makes our team. We take risks and as long as it doesn’t happen often then we have to deal with if, even if one day it will lose us points. We have scored and won many points from Clichy starting our attacks. Shame it had to happen just as he was called up though.

It was great that the other big two dropped points, it is just a shame that the scum couldn’t hold out for a few more seconds. A 3 point cushion would be alot more comfortable. Never mind we will just have to beat them at Old Trafford.
