Would Adebayor have squared it to Walcott?

It may not have been the reaction of a captain. It was merely the reaction of a human being.

Even with time to digest the whole day I still cannot quite transfer my emotions into words. Where would I start? I suppose I have to say the obvious I wish Eduardo a quick recovery, at the very least an uncomplicated recovery. Eduardo’s injury looks so bad that it wouldn’t be a surprise if he never played football again. Arsene Wenger’s patience with Robin Van Persie’s injury will now be tested. We may now see the Dutchman return sooner than he would have liked.

I asked the question yesterday and I shall ask it again. Is it a risk bringing back Almunia? Would Jens Lehmann have saved McFaddens freekick?

Can Adebayor and Bendtner pass to each other and win points enough before Van Persie comes back?

Thierry Henry would have burst into the box at 2-1 and rolled the ball across to Bendtner, jogged over to him pointing at him and hugged him. 3-1 game over. Adebayor wanted to score for himself regardless of where his teammate was positioned. Was Adebayor thinking of his goal run? Would Adebayor have squared it to Walcott? Who knows.

Gael Clichy has made a mistake against Manchester City which cost us a goal but didn’t cost us the game, His error was very costly against Birmingham but he will not do this again for a long time. Clichy made up for his error with a tackle but the referee or assistant did not see the contact made.

So what of William Gallas’s reaction?

It was not the response of a professional player, it may not have been the reaction of a captain. It was merely the reaction of a human being. I felt that very same emotion when the penalty was given. Had it have been John Terry then Alan Hansen and Mark Lawrenson would have praised the English sprit. I would rather see passion than see Thierry Henry hugging the Birmingham City team after the game.

There are still positives to take from this, Theo Walcott played a fantastic second half and grabbed his first Prem goals of the season, Walcott could be moved as a central striker to partner Adebayor instead of Bendtner.

Rosicky, Van Persie and Toure are to come back into the side. The players have a week to get thier minds together and rest tired legs.

Manchester United looked devastating against Newcastle and I was thinking that they have more goalscorers in their squad than we do. The fact is that we have scored 56 goals and United have scored 54 goals even after scoring 11 goals against Newcastle.

It was a bad day overall but you have to remember that Manchester United lost at home to their rivals and we beat Blackburn and everyone was writing Manchester United off and crowing us as champions. There is alot of football to be played, we have to keep our focus and confidence and win this thing for Eduardo Da Silva.
